Cops nab two for cattle transportation; seize vehicle, five animals

Mangaluru, Sep 19: Two cattle transporters including an elderly man were arrested near Nekkiladi, under Uppinangady police station, here on Saturday night.

cattletransport The arrested have been identified as Umar (63), a resident of Chennarayapatna and Shareef (20) from Bantwal. Police have seized their vehicle along with five cattle.

According to police the two were transporting cattle without proper documents. Police personnel who were on night patrolling questioned the duo and found that the cattle were transported illegally from Hassan to Mangaluru.

They have been booked under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and sent to judicial custody. A case has been registered at Uppinangady police station.

recently i have seen one video of india bangladesh border illegal transhport, how they inhumanly hang cow and throwing one border to another border, always just learn that every life has a pain, in this life time if u cant save the animals pls dont hurt them.

Stupid people still they do not know RSS cops what they are looking for, If they could have offered a plate of Mutton Biriyani and Rs.100/- for the Police they would have released on the spot.

Guatemalan national intercepted at Bengaluru airport egests 150 cocaine capsules

Bengaluru, Mar 7: Customs officials intercepted a Guatemalan national at Kempegowda International Airport here on March 2 and recovered cocaine.

The accused confessed that she had swallowed 150 cocaine capsules and concealed a tube-like structure in her vagina.

The passenger egested the total 1.385 kg of cocaine (150 cocaine capsules) over a period of two days, under medical supervision. She has been arrested.

Further, an investigation is underway.

Evacuation flights from Muscat, Doha to Mangaluru via Bengaluru on May 20, May 22

Mangaluru, May 12: Air India will operate two flights - one each from Doha and Muscat - to bring back stranded Kannadigas from Qatar and Oman to Mangaluru next week.

The flight from Muscat to Mangaluru will be operated on May 20 via Bengaluru. It will depart from Muscat International Airport at 1.15 pm local time and reach Bengaluru at 6.15 pm. After the layover at Bengaluru airport, the flight will take off at 7.15 pm and land at Mangaluru International Airport at around 8.10 pm.

Doha – Bengaluru – Mangaluru flight is will be operated May 22. The flight will take off from Doha at 1.30 pm local time and will land at Bengaluru at 8 pm. It will take off from Bengaluru at 9 pm and land at Mangaluru airport around 9.35 pm.

DK Shivakumar finally receives govt nod for swearing-in event

Bengaluru, Jun 11: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Thursday allowed the Opposition Congress party's newly elected state president DK Shivakumar to have a formal swearing-in function.

He told media, “I have spoken to Shivakumar and informed him to conduct the event after taking precautionary measures against the spread of the COVID-19 disease”.

The move came after the state government received flak from the main Opposition Congress leaders, for refusing to permit the newly elected State Congress president to have a formal swearing-in function take reigns from his predecessor Dinesh Gundu Rao.
