Bangalore, Sep 13: Praising the creativity of Kannada actor V Ravichandran, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah hoped that the Kannada film industry would see more contribution by him.

The chief minister was speaking after felicitating the ‘Crazy Star’ at the 50th Belli Hejje programme organised by Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy.

The event held at Ravindra Kalakshetra saw the participation of senior Kannada actors, including Leelavathi, Srinath, Dwarkish, among others.

The academy had invited all the 49 actors who were felicitated in the earlier editions of Belli Hejje. The 50th edition focused on the achievements of Ravichandran. A documentary featuring his journey in the Kannada film industry was also shown to the audience on the occasion.

Encouraging Ravichandran to achieve more success, the chief minister said Ravichandran was truly a creative and multi-talented actor and director.

Ravichandran also interacted with the audience after the felicitation. Talking about his career, Ravichandran said his love for the industry had kept him hooked to it till date.

He found that the challenge for the industry was the competition from other language films. “We have to make films that are better than other regional films. That is the only way to deal with the stiff competition.”

When he was asked by the audience about the remake trend in the Kannada film industry, the actor said, “Either ban remake completely or let it open for everyone. There cannot be a bias in permitting some people to do it and impose restrictions on the others. Moreover, sometimes you have to think about it from the business point of view, too. There are films that one makes for the love of it and films that are made for a living. Both need space.”

Asked what his inspiration was, he said his “observation” of things and people around was his only inspiration.

Mumbai, Mar 7: A 'farm-to-fork' themed restaurant 'He-Man' situated on National Highway in Haryana's Karnal -- franchised by veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra -- has been sealed for building law violations, officials said on Saturday.

The Karnal Municipal Corporation sealed the franchise outlet on Friday for not furnishing the change of land use (CLU) certificate and illegal constructions, an official said.

The restaurant is located on National Highway 44 on the outskirts of Karnal, some 150 km from here.

The franchise was given to Delhi-based businessman Pramod Kumar.

"After the success of my restaurant Garam Dharam Dhaba, I am now announcing a farm-to- fork themed restaurant 'He-Man'," Dharmendra had announced on Instagram after its launch on Valentine's Day.

Karnal Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav said the action was initiated as the restaurant owner did not respond to MC notice on the issue.
