Mangalore, December 14: An unidentified body of a middle aged man was found in a well located in a deserted place near Kankanady railway station.
The locals noticed the decomposed body when the peeped into the well after sensing nasty smell.
The matter was reported to police. The body was sent for postmortem. The police were investigating the matter.
Nagpur, Apr 5: A 23-year-old man allegedly committed suicide in Imambada area in Nagpur on Saturday due to financial distress, police said.
Nikhil Gavhane, who worked in a grocery shop, hanged himself as he had taken money from a person and was stressed over repayment, an official said.
"He was depressed since a week," the Imambada police station official said.
Thrissur, Jun 11: Volunteers of People for Animal Welfare Services rescued a dog that had its mouth sealed with insulation tape around it for two weeks in Ollur of Thrissur district.
The dog has now been shifted to an animal shelter home.
Recently two elephants died in Kerala. One pregnant elephant died after consuming crackers wrapped in some fruits in Palakkad.
Another elephant died in Malappuram after it was found seriously injured in North Nilambur forest range of the district.
Gonda, Apr 9: A man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his room as he was missing his wife stuck at her parents' place due to the lockdown, police said.
The incident took place in Radha Kund locality here on Wednesday, they said, adding the deceased has been identified as Rakesh Soni, 32.
As per information, Soni's wife had gone to her parents' place and was stuck there due to the lockdown and he was missing her due to which he committed suicide, Inspector Alok Rao said.
A probe is on in the mater, he said.
