Honnavar, January 28: An 18-year-old girl died after she was bitten by snake bite at Gunakeri in Honnavar taluk on Thursday night.
Although Mamata Nagu Gowda was on Thursday afternoon, bitten by a snake, she did not realise it.
It was only after some delay that she started feeling pain on her right leg. While shifting to Manipal Hospital, she died on her way. The Honnavar police have registered a case.
Bengaluru, Jun 7: A 27-year-old man was allegedly killed using deadly weapons by unidentified people here, police said.
The incident took place at deceased, Arvind's rented house in LBS Nagar inside HAL police station limits.
According to police, Arvind is an accused in a criminal case and recently walked out of jail on bail.
Kozhikode, Jun 26: A man, who had returned from Bahrain on Thursday and has been under quarantine at his house in Villyapallai near here, has been stabbed on his arm by an unidentified person.
Police sources said the assailant, with a masked face, had ransacked the man's house by break-opening the door at midnight lat night and stabbed Lijeesh on his arm and fled from the scene.
The nearby residents took Lijeesh to a nearby hospital and was put back on quarantine.
Bengaluru, May 21:Tragedy struck an elderly migrant worker who was looking forward to joining his family as he died on reaching a nearby railway station to board a Shramik Special train to his home state Madhya Pradesh, police said on Thursday.
The 69-year old man, who worked in a coffee estate in Chikkamagaluru, collapsed and died soon after getting down from a state-run KSRTC bus that brought him and others to the Chikkabanavara Railway station on Wednesday.
According to police, fellow labourers said he had been ailing for quite some time.
The cause of his death would be known only after a post-mortem, police added.
Karnataka government has been sending back thousands of migrant workers stranded in the state due to the COVID-19 lockdown by arranging the special trains.
