Teacher held for molestation in Ahmedabad

molestAhmedabad, March 8: On the eve of Women's day, the Shahpur police has arrested a teacher of Nelson school for sexually harassing three girls of class XI.


The shameful incident came to light when the teacher Mansukh Vyas wrote letters to the parents of the girls informing them that the girls were staying away from school.


According to the parents of the girls the teacher Vyas has been harassing the three girls for the past three months. Of these three one girl belongs to the Parsi community, while the other two were from the minority community.


Vyas a teacher in Nelson school situated in Shahpur was teaching four subjects in class XI commerce. Police officials said that in the complaints, the parents have stated that the teacher had for the past couple of months forced the three girls to accompany him to the market. He even touched their private parts and sexually harassed them.


Not able to cope up, the girls stopped going to school for the past one month.


The parents rushed to the school to talk to the management, but they failed to get a satisfactory reply from the authorities. Also, one of the three girls broke down and narrated incidents.


When the parents again went to the school to inform the authorities about the teacher, the authorities were missing. The parents then went to Shahpur police and registered a complaint against the teacher. The police acting on the complaint arrested the teacher.


The father of a girl said, "When the school failed to respond we were forced to file the complaint. We want the teacher to be suspended. Also the teacher has threatened to fail the girls if they informed any one and if they stopped him," he said.

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 22:An accused in a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act jumped into the sea on Wednesday morning when he was taken for evidence collection at Kasaba in Kasargode district, police said.

Accused Mahesh was arrested following a complaint by his neighbour on Tuesday evening.

The police said that they took the accused to the seashore to collect evidence in the case when Mahesh jumped into the sea. Two police officials too jumped in after him to catch hold of him but could not locate Mahesh.

Later, swimmers were deployed to try and locate the missing man.

Thane, Jul 19: A 34-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing his wife after picking up a fight as he did not like the food she cooked, Thane police said.

Sachin Godane, a resident of Gaikwad Pada in Ambernath, locked his two children and an aunt in one room of the house on Friday afternoon and brutally beat up his wife Chandrakala (28) with a log and then strangled her, said Assistant Inspector JB Bhoyer of Shivajinagar police station.

Godane has been remanded in police custody for four days, he added.

Kozhikode, Jun 26: A man, who had returned from Bahrain on Thursday and has been under quarantine at his house in Villyapallai near here, has been stabbed on his arm by an unidentified person.

Police sources said the assailant, with a masked face, had ransacked the man's house by break-opening the door at midnight lat night and stabbed Lijeesh on his arm and fled from the scene.

The nearby residents took Lijeesh to a nearby hospital and was put back on quarantine.
