Woman clubs 'rapist' youth to death in Rajsamand district

Jaipur, March 14: A 23-year-old married woman beat to death a 19-year-old youth who allegedly tried to rape her at a village in Rajsamand district on Monday evening. The woman claimed that the youth, who stays next door, barged into her house when she was alone and started molesting her. In course of the scuffle, the woman picked up an iron rod and hit the youth on his head after which he died.

The police have detained the woman and said they were verifying her claims. The deceased's brother had lodged an FIR against the family members of the woman on Tuesday saying that they had invited him to the house and murdered him.

The incident took place in Bagdawata village under Bheem police station area. The woman, Kusum Devi, was staying at her parents' house these days. "She claimed that she was alone when her 19-year-old neighbour, Manbhawan Singh, walked into her house," said a police officer.

"We found the boy's body in a pool of blood. I won't comment on what exactly happened as we are yet to verify the woman's claims. However, she has yet not been arrested," said Pradeep Mohan Sharma, addl SP, Rajsamand.

Panipat, Mar 3: A 22-year-old man was charred to death after he came in contact with a live electricity wire while posing for a TikTok video near the Matlaudha railway station here, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Monday evening when Vikas, a resident of Dharamgarh village, climbed a pole over which the wire was passing and posed for the video, police said.

His three friends were standing below when the accident took place.

Vikas came in contact with the wire carrying 25,000 volts current and was burnt, police said.

Police have sent the body for a post-mortem and started investigation into the matter.

Bengaluru, Feb 5: City Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru City have arrested two drug peddlers from Kerala and have seized banned products from their possession.

According to officials the arrested persons have been identified as Shinto Thomas (35) of Wayanad and Tajudden Talat (29) of Thiruvananthapuram.

"We have seized 4 kg 350 grams of Hashish oil, 21.5 kgs of Ganja, Rs. 9300 cash, two mobile phones, two ganja crushing tools, and 625 empty boxes and other articles from them", police said in a statement.

Mandya, Jun 14: In a tragic incident, a woman and her two children were drowned in a pond at Beeranahalli village in Nagamangala taluk of this district on Sunday.

Police said that the deceased have been identified as Geeta (40), and her two children Savita(19) and Soumya(14).

Savaitha is a degree student while Soumya was studying in 9th standard. The trio drowned in a pond where they had gone to wash their cows. The locals rushed to the spot and tried to rescue them but could not save.
