Dubai, September 28: Preliminary investigation into the death of an Indian woman in a residential building located at Rolla Road in Bur Dubai on Wednesday points to murder-cum- robbery.

The body of 36-year-old M.S. from the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu was found when her husband, alerted by one of her woman friends staying in the building after she did not turn up to receive her son from the school bus, rushed back and opened the door.

Around 1pm, the police received information and rushed to the scene and found the woman with her throat slit and lying in a pool of blood near the door of the studio apartment.

The husband told the police that he immediately returned home only to find the door locked. He opened the door and found his wife lying dead in a pool of blood.

He told the police that jewellery pieces worth Dh14,500 were missing. His wife had kept them in the cupboard, he said.

The primary investigation showed that the woman could have been attacked around 10am. The apartment was in order, the police said.
