Telugu_actressHyderabad, Apr 10: Telugu actress Anjali (26) went missing from a hotel in Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills. She reportedly went missing on Monday morning but her family lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday evening.

From East Godavari district, Anjali is an established actor in the Tamil film industry and has done a couple of Telugu movies.

In his complaint, Anjali's brother Ravi Shanker alleged that his sister was being harassed by their uncle, aunt and a movie producer for money. She was raised in Chennai by her aunt Bharati Devi, who claimed to have adopted Anjali when she was 15.

Anjali is currently working in the Telugu remake of Bollywood hit 'Bol Bachchan' opposite Venkatesh and Ravi Teja-starrer 'Balupu'. Anjali arrived in the city four days ago for the shoot. She along with her uncle Suri Babu checked into a hotel in Jubilee Hills.

The entire controversy began when Anjali reportedly called up some Tamil media personnel on Sunday and levelled serious allegations against Devi, Babu and Kollywood director Mu Kalanjiyam. The actress alleged that her step mom, uncle and the director were harassing her for money.

On Monday morning Anjali got out of the hotel and did not return. Her cellphone was found switched off. Babu did not call the police and left for Chennai.

After reading new reports about Anjali, Shanker tried to contact her. "As he could not reach her on the phone, Ravi Shanker called up Devi and Babu and realised that she went missing from the hotel," Jubilee Hills inspector D Pradeep Kumar said.

On Tuesday evening, Shanker approached the Jubilee Hills police and lodged a missing complaint.
