Dammam: Community welfare workshop held for Indian Social Forum volunteers

Dammam: Indian Social Forum Karnataka (ISF) State Eastern Province conducted community welfare activities workshop for the volunteers to deal with Indian community welfare cases in Saudi Arabia on September 7, 2018 at Rose Restaurant Auditorium, Dammam.

The aim of the workshop was to brief Indian Social Welfare activities and train ISF volunteer to how effectively they can get involved in the welfare activities of fellow NRIs in Saudi Arabia.

Mohammad Firoz (Secretary Indian Social Forum Karnataka) speaking on the occasion, explained the volunteer on the methods & techniques dealing with community welfare activities and highlighted the importance of coordinating with Indian Embassy while addressing the NRI issues. Naushad Katipalla, in-charge of the ISF Community Welfare team conducted the Q & A session for the audience. Being an authorized volunteer of the Indian Embassy, Naushad Katipalla has been assisting NRIs in several years in Saudi Arabia. He was effectively able to respond to the questions raised by attendees during the session and his way of handling the session was applauded by the guests and volunteers. ISF State Committee SWC member Arif Jokatte briefed about the Indian Social Forum activities and hosted the event.

Indian Social Forum Volunteers Ibrahim Abdul Khader AlKhobar , Rafique Budoli AlHasa, Hasan Kinnigoli  Jubail were felicitated for their excellent contribution to Indian Community welfare activities in the recent past.

Earlier Muhammad Salahuddin, General Secretary Indian Social Forum Karnataka welcomed the gathering and Mohammed Shareef President Indian Social Forum Karnataka appealed NRIs to join hands with Indian Social Forum to help the needy fellow Indians in Saudi Arabia. Sajid Valavoor General Secretary India Fraternity Forum, Tajamul Hussain Raichur Trust, Masada Nawin Bhandary, Mohammed Noumann, Sayyed Amir, Safeerul Haq Tamimi, Dr. Abhijit (Rahwda Hospital), Bandenawaz Bijapur, Anwar Sadath Mangalore, Ibrahim Vasat Mangalore , Suhail Mysore, Iftikar Bangalore, Mohammed Ashraf Helpy, Atik Mysore, Hamid Hussain and syed Saifulla were present at the Guest section of the auditorium

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.

Kuwait: Eid is usually a time of family get-togethers and feasts after weeks of dawn-to-dusk fasting. But this year people celebrated at home, with virus fears dampening the holiday spirit and strict restrictions in place.

Kuwait went under full curfew before the start of Ramadan leaving people to practice fasting and Ramadan rituals at home, Even Eid al-Fitr came under full lock-down period.

As situation demanded, IMA Kuwait celebrated the Eid Get-together online via video conferencing tool, All IMA members participated joyfully in Eid Milan online gathering which was scheduled immediately after Eid prayer. Members participated and congratulated each other on the eve of Eid.

The IMA president Shamvel Parviz addressed the gathering and thanked them for joining online for this unique Eid celebration which will be remembered in history. He also advised members to be aware of conditions of neighbors, friends and family and assist them if they need help in this difficult time.

Eid al-Fitr follows weeks of fasting and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims all over Kuwait followed strict guideline and performed Eid prayer at home along with their family.

As a part of social service activities IMA also distributed ration kits before start of Ramadan and during Ramadan for needy people all over Kuwait.
