Daya Nayak’s brother-in-law commits suicide

DayanayakMangalore, Mar 7: Encounter specialist Daya Nayak's brother-in-law allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the backwaters of Moodushedde dam here on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Raja (54), a resident of Vamanjoor. He was married to Nayak's elder sister. The victim had called his friend before the act saying that he was going to commit suicide at Moodushedde dam and inform his kin. When Raja's son Kiran reached the dam site, the victim had drowned.

The deceased was undergoing chemotherapy for liver cancer. Sources close to the victim said from past one week Raja was suffering and on Wednesday night he had said the pain was becoming unbearable.

Bengaluru, Apr 6: Popular Kannada comedy actor Prakash, popularly known as Bullet Prakash in the film industry, died due to multi-organ failure at a private hospital in the City on Monday.

He was 44.

He is survived by wife, one son and a daughter.

Bengaluru, April 3: Central Crime Branch (CCB) Bengaluru has arrested two persons for allegedly possessing illicit liquor.

The probe team also allegedly seized bottles worth Rs 1.25 lakhs from their possession on Thursday.

A case has been registered against the accused and investigation into the matter is underway, Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police informed news agency.
