Kasaragod, Aug 21: District Collector D. Sajithbabu has warned against moves to solicit compulsory collection of relief materials from individuals and households for the flood-hit families.
The Collector’s order comes against the backdrop of reports quoting the District Police Chief here that some individuals and organisations under fictitious names are found to be duping people by collecting relief materials.

It distributed around 250 kits including some cash amount to the needy

Madikeri, Jul 24: Water from river Cauvery, which is deemed as holy, and mud from Kodagu, the birth district of river Cauvery was collected and will be sent to Ayodhya for use during groundbreaking (Bhoomi Pooja) ceremony for the construction of Ram Mandir on August 5.
Workers of Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Hindu Jagarana Vedike collected the soil and water from River Cauvery at Talacauvery Kshetra, the birthplace of river Cauvery.
Special pooja was offered at Talacauvery, praying for the timely completion of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Mandya, Jul 6: With a journalist from Srirangapatna testing positive for Covid-19, the Mandya District Journalists Association was sealed as a precautionary measure.
Association President K C Manjunath said on Monday that as the reporter has tested positive for Covid-19, it was voluntarily decided to seal down the premises for another month.
