Deepika_RajinikanthMumbai, Apr 13: Actress Deepika Padukone, who will be seen in Rajinikanth starrer `Kochadaiiyaan`, admires the southern superstar`s simplicity, humbleness and enthusiasm for his work.

"We were shooting without any co-stars, so I couldn`t spend a lot of time with him. But we got a day-and-half together and I loved the whole experience of being with him. I take back with me Rajini sir`s simplicity and humbleness," Deepika said.

"He is more excited on the sets, he comes on set with full energy, greets everyone and treats his daughter Soundarya like a director," he added.

The actress said she was surprised to see that the veteran actor`s passion towards his work.

"After working for so many years, his enthusiasm towards work hasn`t changed. I admire him. He and Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) are excited about their work and you can see the passion in their eyes," she said.

`Kochadaiiyaan` is a hi-tech 3D film with photorealistic motion capture technology, also called as performance capturing technology. It has been used in Hollywood films like `Avatar` and `The Adventures of Tintin`.

The movie is likely to take 3D films a step further in India. Earlier at an event, Rajinikanth mentioned that it was difficult for him to understand the technology. Deepika too agrees with him.

"It wasn`t easy to work in this film. For this film we had a camera that was right in my face. I am playing a princess but while I was shooting I was just wearing track pants and a T-shirt. We have no sets or no co-stars, so it is a very bland process," the actress said.

"The film pushed me to use my imagination. If I had to climb the staircase I had to imagine it as it is not physically present. If I had to hold something or touch something, I had to imagine what it would be like...Those were the challenges," she said.

Recently, the Hindi trailer of `Kochadaiiyaan` was launched in Mumbai in the presence of superstar Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan and other cast and crew of the film. But Deepika was missing at the event.

"The trailer launch in Mumbai was a last minute plan. I believe there weren`t any plans to hold an event here, so Soundarya messaged me that same evening if I could join them," she said.

"For the last two weeks I have been shooting for `Happy New Year` and we are having night shoots, so unfortunately I couldn`t make it," Deepika added. The film is set to release in May.

Mumbai, May 30: Actor Vaani Kapoor on Saturday said she will go on a virtual date with five people as part of an initiative to raise money for daily wage earners, who have been affected due to the nationwide lockdown implemented to rein in coronavirus.

Vaani has teamed up with actor Arjun Kapoor's sister Anshula Kapoor’s online fundraising platform, Fankind, to raise funds for daily wage workers.

Vaani and Fankind have come together to provide five of her fans a chance to go on a virtual date with her - by donating to provide food to daily wage workers.

“As human beings, we will need to come forward and support as many people as possible in need due to the coronavirus pandemic in our country. I’m doing my bit to support the daily wage earners of our country and their families who are in dire situations given the lockdown.

“My activity, in which five lucky winners can have a virtual date with me, will see us collect funds to help feed them and their families across the country," Vaani said in a statement.

Earlier, Arjun too supported the initiative to help daily wage earners.

According to the press release, the funds will go to GiveIndia, a non-profit organisation, which will provide hot cooked meals to wage earners and their families. Each meal costs Rs 30 and will be delivered in various areas of Maharashtra, Bangalore, and Chennai.

A.T.E. Chandra Foundation has also come on board and will be adding 25 percent of the total donation value collected as a matching amount, thereby multiplying the impact, the release said.

New Delhi, Apr 23: As the holy month of Ramzan is about to begin, several Muslim public figures on Thursday appealed to the community to offer tarawih and hold iftar inside their homes and follow the lockdown regulations imposed to tackle the coronavirus threat.

Television actor Iqbal Khan in a video message appealed to the people to not step out of their houses during Ramzan.

"This time around, whatever you do during Ramzan, you have to do it inside your houses. Do not visit mosques; offer tarawih (late evening prayers offered during Ramzan) at your homes. Your stepping outside will not only put you in a problem but may put your family members in trouble also," said Khan.

"And that will be wrong, do not go outside. If anyone says you have to go outside then they are wrong. Stay home and stay safe and help others stay safe too," he added.

Another TV actor and Tik Tok star Jannat Zubair asked people to avoid any kind of social gatherings so as to ensure the safety of everyone.

"I know we are in a difficult situation but there is no need to panic. We will overcome this and things will be fine. The holy month of Ramzan is going to start, please stay home, offer prayers at your homes and avoid family/friends gatherings for now. It is just a matter of time, things will be fine soon. Stay home and stay safe," she said.
Ramzan is likely to begin from April 24.
