Bengaluru, Aug 20: The senior BJP Legislators, who were denied berth in the Cabinet expansion by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, have decided to meet soon and chalk out next course of action to bring pressure on High Command for their inclusion in the Ministry.
While members of the Kalyana Karnataka Horata Samithi staged protest in the Kalaburagi town inprotest against not giving representation to Kalaburagi and demanded separate Statehood to the region, in Chitradurga followers of G H Tippa Reddy indulged in violence in protest against denial of Cabinet berth. The agitators torched a motor bike in the middle of a main road. Police resorted to Lathi charge to disperse the mob and took some of them into custody.
M S Patil of the Samithi said that BJP won five Lok Sabha seats in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region for the first time but sufficient representation was given in the Cabinet expansion.
