Dr Edmond Fernandes appointed IAC committee member

Edmond FernandesMangalore, Aug 11: Dr Edmond Fernandes, CEO, Center for Health and Development and a Post Graduate of Community Medicine at Yenepoya Medical College, Yenepoya University has been appointed as Member, Advisory Committee of the International Aviation Conclave ( IAC ) 2014.

IAC is supported by Ministry of Civil Aviation Government of India, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, SAARC Nations, US-India Importers Council, ADS-UK and other regulatory bodies.

Global Co-operation, Foreign direct investment, liberalized policies by the Indian Government will be showcased at the event due to happen at India Trade Promotion Organization, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi between October 9-11, 2014. A few among the global luminary speakers are:

Dr. Nasim Zaidi, Election commissioner of India & former Secretary Civil Aviation Govt. Of India, Mr. Arun Mishra – Regional Director, International Civil Aviation Organization – Asia pacific, Mr. Jalal Haider – Director General, World Aviation Forum & former Vice President ICAO, Mr. Mark Schwab, CEO, Star Alliance, Mr. David Soucie, Safety and Accident Analyst , Senior Aviation expert at CNN, Dr. Yvonne Zigler – Project head, Frankfurt university of applied sciences. Mangaluru, May 5: Covid-19 pandemic has caused widespread economic devastation in the country. Many people have lost their livelihood. All sectors of the economy are in distress. Providing relief to the needy is the need of the hour.  Responding to this humanitarian crisis, Dakshina Kannada Automobile & Tyre Dealers Association has contributed a sum of Rs. One Lakh towards Covid-19 relief.

Association President Sri Kasturi Prabhakar Pai along with Vice President Sri Harsha Kumar Kedige, Secretary Sri K. Vilas Kumar and Treasurer Sri Maroor Shashidhar Pai handed over two cheques for Rs. 50,000/- each favouring ‘PM Cares’ – the Prime Minister’s Covid-l9 Relief Fund and ‘Chief Minister Relief Fund Covid-l9’ of Karnataka respectively to Smt. Sindhu B. Rupesh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of D. K. District at her office in Mangalore on Monday, May 4, 2020.

Bengaluru, Apr 6: Popular Kannada comedy actor Prakash, popularly known as Bullet Prakash in the film industry, died due to multi-organ failure at a private hospital in the City on Monday.

He was 44.

He is survived by wife, one son and a daughter.

Puttur, May 9: City based Team B-Human today distributed Ramadan kits among 70 families in Koodu Raste Jamaat and 30 families in Papetthadka Jamaat in Puttur taluk. 

This was the second phase of Ramadan kit distributions carried out by the Team B-Human. So far the team distributed Ramadan kits among 200 families in three different Jamaat.

Koodu Raste Juma Masjid Khateeb Yaqoob Darimi offered dua before distribution.  Team B-Human members Ashraf Aina group, Althaf, Shia Deals, Ahnaf Deals, Abdul Shukoor Haji, and E-Friends founder president Imtiyaz Perla, Saleem U B of Youth Congress, Juma Masjid president P K Mohammad Shafi Papettadka were present. 

A release issued by the Team B-Human sated that it distributed food among 35,000 people since April 23. The beneficiaries include a large number of migrant workers irrespective of their caste and religion. It also arranged Iftar and Suhoor for around 450 stranded migrants every day.

Asif Deals, found of Team B-Human, said that in next phases more Ramadan kits will be distributed among needy families in some jamaats.
