Drug worth Rs. 25 lakh seized at KIA

Bengaluru, Mar 30: The officials of Narcotics Control Bureau Zonal Unit of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana on Tuesday arrested 40-year-old Raza Mohammad Mustafa at the Kempegowda International Airport and seized 11.8 kg of ephedrine worth Rs. 25 lakh from his possession.

The drug was concealed in cavity made in various cardboards, used for decorative clothing tape. The accused was carrying the drug in his check-in baggage and was headed to Kuala Lumpur. He has been sent to judicial custody.

Madikeri, Jul 24: Water from river Cauvery, which is deemed as holy, and mud from Kodagu, the birth district of river Cauvery was collected and will be sent to Ayodhya for use during groundbreaking (Bhoomi Pooja) ceremony for the construction of Ram Mandir on August 5.

Workers of Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Hindu Jagarana Vedike collected the soil and water from River Cauvery at Talacauvery Kshetra, the birthplace of river Cauvery.

Special pooja was offered at Talacauvery, praying for the timely completion of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Mandya, Jul 6: With a journalist from Srirangapatna testing positive for Covid-19, the Mandya District Journalists Association was sealed as a precautionary measure.

Association President K C Manjunath said on Monday that as the reporter has tested positive for Covid-19, it was voluntarily decided to seal down the premises for another month.

Belagavi, Jan 16: Six Poachers were arrested in two different cases at Gollahalli forest range in Kittur section in the district on Thursday.

The arrested were identified as Bharmesh alias Bharmappa Hanumant Bhajantri, Mallesh Hanumant Bhajantri residents of Budanakatti in Bailahongal Taluk.

Another alleged accused Yuvraj Basappa Bhajantri managed to escape.
