EIFF organizes UAE National Day Sports Meet

Dubai, Dec 2: On account of 42nd UAE National Day Emirates India Fraternity Forum (EIFF) organized its Annual Sports Meet at Hamriya Cultural and Sports Stadium, Hamriya Sharjah on November 29, 2013.

The meet was inaugurated with Quran recitation by Elyas Ahmed. Speaking on the occasion he said, the sports meet would help in exhibiting the talent, developing unity, integrity and sportsmanship among the participants.

Elyas Melkar who was overall in charge of the sports meet read out the rules and regulations to be followed in the sports meet.

Elyas Ahmed has conducted oath taking ceremony. The spectacular event was inaugurated with four participating teams were assembling in the ground wearing four different color uniforms, in a fully crowded stadium with EIFF members from Deira Dubai, Bur-Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.

Separate competitions were organized exclusively for ladies and children.

The sports meet featured many activities and games such as 100 meters, 200 meters, 4X100 Relay, Kabbadi, Volley Ball, Football and Tug of War.

For the First Time by the collective efforts, The Bur Dubai team representing in red colour t-shirt grabbed the overall championship.

The 1st Place in Kabaddiand VolleyBall has bagged by Bur Dubai team with Red T Shirt, Sharjah team with Black T Shirt bagged 1st place in Foot Ball by defeating Deira Dubai in Penalty Shootout.

Abu Dhabi with Blue T. Shirt has bagged First Place in Tug of War in a sensational game by defeating Sharjah.

In athletic 100 Mtrs race Gafoor Farangipet of Bur Dubai, Lathief Valachil of Sharjah and Shahil Nalliyadi was Winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Shahid Gangully of Deira retained 1st place in 200 Mtrs race followed with Suhail Kolnad of Sharjah with second place and Anwar Ruwais of Abu Dhabi with 3rd place. In 100*4 Mtrs relay by the final movement effort by Elyas Bailur of Deira Dubai along with Shahid Gangully, Mukthar Sullia and Sarfraz Bajpe Deira Dubai has put in First place. Gafoor Farangipet, Jaleel Ujire, Sayyed Udupi and Naushad Belapu Bur Dubai has satisfied with second place.

The major highlight of the evening was that most of the participant’s irrespective of their age participated in one or the other event. The participants enjoyed the delicious breakfast and lunch.

Mohammad Shafi from Hubli was the chief guest who as distributed the Champions Trophy. Almost all the children have entertained with attractive prizes.

The players shown unquestionable commitment, discipline and impressive performance in all the games were worth of watching throughout the day. The volunteer’s contribution was also one of the major highlight of the day.

Janab Irshad along with his Team members were put their full effort in making this event a grand successful.

JanabNasir throughout the day entertaining the participant’s in his announcements in different languages and concluded with vote of thanks.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.

Kuwait: The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed the whole world into a difficult situation and the situation of Indians in Kuwait is not any different. Many people have lost their jobs, have no salary, are deprived of food and are not able to pay rent. The appalling conditions of labourers, domestic workers, taxi drivers and low waged earners don’t seem to end in Kuwait. 

At this trying situation when many people were even afraid of leaving their houses because of coronavirus, Suresh S. Rao Neramballi, volunteer of the Food Kit Distribution at the ICSG (Indian Community Support Group) has helped many tremendously. He was ready to go around delivering food kits at any time possible by his car. However, after Kuwait imposed a full curfew from 11th May 2020, no one could take out their vehicles unless they had a curfew pass. 

This did not stop Mr. Suresh Neramballi, who then borrowed a bicycle from a friend and ended up going around in the cycle delivering the food kits in curfew break time (4:30pm to 6:30pm) to all those who registered in the ICSG website. This selfless service surely commands appreciation and applause. Mr. Suresh Neramballi has been a light for many families and bachelors in Kuwait and will surely garner the blessings of them who have been able to eat at this time.

He was also the one who could deliver the food kits to many Indian Muslim maids, bachelors, laborers and families previous day and right on the day of EID, as they were not able to go shopping for their groceries for EID, due to the curfew. They blessed him in EID dua. 

Mr. Suresh Neramballi hails from Mangaluru, India and is an Engineer in the Oil sector company in Kuwait. He has been dedicated to social service, achieved 'Aryabhata International Award' for his Kannada Service and Social service, served in many Associations and Distributor of Kannada and Tulu Movies in Kuwait. He wholeheartedly thanks the people and government of Kuwait for his bread and butter.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.
