‘Ek Aslyar Ek Na’ Konkani Cinema premier in Dubai and Kuwait in May

Dubai: The much awaited first big budget Konkani Movie “Ek Aslyar Ek Na” is all set for its premiere and international release on May 20 at Dubai Hyatt Regency Cinema and also on May 27th at American International School, Maidan Haveli, Kuwait as being informed by Producer Frank Fernandes Thottam of Ferns Movie International and Director Pradeep Barboza in a joint press release. Release in other GCC Countries and elsewhere will be finalised soon.

The entire production of the movie is now completed and recently had released the audio in a grand programme in India, the songs of which is hitting popularity wherever heard.

After long one can watch a Konkani Movie in UAE and that too for the comfort of all Konkani speaking people residing in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi the producer has organized 4 Shows including the premiere show on same day. Producer Frank Fernandes is confident that Konkani speaking people of India living in UAE will surely support their mother tongue along with the non-Konkani speaking Kannadigas too who can get to watch a beautiful Konkani Film for the first time in support to all the amateur artistes in the film. This will boost them for more films in the future.

Grand release of Tickets for UAE and Kuwait shows will released in couple of days and announced soon.

“Events Production” has already taken responsibility to release the film in Kuwait while the preparations are in full swing in releasing "Ek Aslyar Ek Na" in Canada, Australia and Mangalore. The exact dates of release will be announced once the finalisation of Film theatres is done.

"Ek Aslyar Ek Na" will be Pradeep Barboza's first Konkani Film for which he has written the story and dialogues too. A well known personality in Konkani circles he has vast experience in several Konkani successful plays and has also played the lead role in the Movie. Very promising and upcoming beautiful Actress Priya Menezes has played the lead female role. Some of the artistes include “Memory” Fame Richard Sequeira, Jerald Moras and Melwyn D Almeida famous Comedy Trio of Konkani, John D'Silva who is already famous with Goan cinema, Deepak Paladka of 'Nirel' & 'Dhand' Tulu movie fame, Alwyn Danty, Lucy Aranha Kuwait, Lavina Gomes of Dubai, Godwin Castelino lead the comedy part, versatile actors Alphons D'Souza Moodubelle, Claude D Leema Shirva, Andrew Master Paladka , Gladys Hospet, Rons London, Joseph Mathias, Clara Rodrigues Abu Dhabi, Lu, Shawn Mangalore, Rohan, Prafulla and many others amateur aspiring actors. On the whole 'Ek Aslyar Ek Na' is a complete entertainment package for viewers worth watching, ever made in Konkani so far.

The Technical Team comprise of 'Savari 2' Kannada movie fame D. Shashikumar who has provided the Cinematography, Music by Vanil Veigas, Lyrics by Wilson Kateel, Singers Prajoth D'Sa, Ashwin D'Costa, Priya Menezes, Jyothsna Roshan & Anjana Padmanabhan, Asst Direction by Stany Bela and Kishore Moodbidri while Edited is done by awarding winning editor of Chandikori fame Sujith Nayak. Stunts by famous Kannada action director Mass Madha while Choreography by Akul, Girish and Rajesh Brahmavar. Alphonse Moodbelle and Rajesh Kudla has given their best as Production in charge. The Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC), Bahrain, has charted aircrafts to repatriate stranded expatriates to India. 

Boby Parayil, General Secretary, OICC National Committee, Bahrain has thanked all those who supported in this cause.

“The aircrafts were not licensed and were in crisis until the last minute. Finally, Mohammed Mansoor, president of Bahrain chapter of Indian Overseas Congress approached IOC Middle East in charge Dr Arathi Krishna, who helped get permission to operate flight to Kozhikode,” he said in a release. 

All mandatory approvals from the Foreign Ministry of Affairs and other government officials were accomplished by Dr Arathi Krishna. OICC has expressed gratitude to her for her timely support, he said. 

OICC is also grateful to former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy for doing necessary arrangements to get all the approvals for flight landing in Kerala, he added.

Mangaluru, May 22: An elderly cardiac patient from Dakshina Kannada, who was stranded in Saudi Arabia due to covid-19 lock-down, has finally reached his homeland thanks to the timely intervention by Humanity Forum Jubail and Indian Social Forum.

The elderly man hailing from Kadaba area of Dakshina Kannada was admitted to a hospital in Madinah. However, his condition continued to worsen due to lack of proper treatment. The efforts by his family members to bring him back home had not yielded results.

Meanwhile, one of the relatives of the patient, Ansari Suratkal, who happens to be a DKSC activist, brought the issue to the notice of the Karnataka unit of the Indian Social Forum in Dammam. ISF contacted Humanity Forum president Zakariya Jokatte, who helped the patient to speak directly union minister D V Sadananda Gowda in a video conference organised by coastaldigest.com.

Humanity Forum also persuaded the Indian Embassy to allow the stranded cardiac patient to fly back to India through Dammam-Bengaluru repatriation flight on May 20. 

However, it was not easy for the patient to travel from Madinah to Dammam International Airport due to lock-down and curfew. ISF not only obtained travel permission for him but also arranged vehicle. Jeddah and Riyadh units of ISF helped in obtaining permission letter in their respective places in spite of travel ban imposed by the police. Madinah unit of ISF arranged vehicle for transportation. Zakariya Jokatte bore the air ticket and other expenses of the patient.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.
