Social worker and Gulabi Gang (a womens’ gang from Bundelkhand that fights for womens’ issues) leader Sampat Pal has alleged that she would not have been evicted from Bigg Boss 6 if all the public votes were considered. Pal has been evicted in the latest round of eliminations.

“Kahan ginte hai sarevote, agar public vote ko maana jata, toh hum aaj bhi andar hote. (They don’t count all the votes, if public votes were considered, I would still have been inside),” she says.

Pal has in fact gone further to say that the TV show is fake. “Sab dikhavati natak hai. Sirf wahi log andar hain jo kaam dhoond rahe hain. Yahan sirf entertainment chalta hai. (It’s all fake. The ones looking for work are still in the house. Only entertainment sells here),” she points out.

In fact, she feels that all the respect that the inmates showed for her and co-contestant Sidhu is play-acting. “Yeh kahan manne wale hain kisi ki baat. Sab muh par izzat karte hain aur apne man ki karte hain,” she says.

Set to be home for Diwali, Pal has double reasons to celebrate as it’s her birthday on the day, as well. “Channel walon ne kaha ki sirf do hafte ke liye aa jao. Ab main ghar jaongi aur Diwali manaongi. (The channel asked me to participate for two weeks, now I celebrate Diwali at home),” she says.

Agartala, May 28: Tripura Police has registered a complaint against Bangladeshi singer Mainul Ahsan Nobel, who earned fame in the music reality show 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' in Kolkata, for allegedly humiliating Prime Minister Narendra Modi over social media.

The complaint was filed by a resident of Belonia town in South Tripura district who is a student of Pandit Deen Dayal Petroleum University at Gandhinagar in Gujarat.

The complaint was filed on May 25, the person who is called Suman Paul said.

Nobel is not yet a popular singer in Bangladesh and has always been rejected by the audience of that country. He participated in the TV music reality show called Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in Kolkata, earned money, gained fame and returned to Bangladesh. If the person insults our prime minister it cannot be accepted. So I filed the FIR, Paul told reporters.

Belonia superintendent of police Jal Singh Meena confirmed that the complaint was registered and forwarded to Tripura Polices cyber crime cell.

The complaint was registered the same day it was filed at Belonia police station under Indian Penal code sections 500 (punishment for defamation), 504 (intentional insult), 505 (public mischief) and the IT Act.

We have registered the complaint and forwarded it to the cybercrime cell because it is not in the Indian cyberspace. We have started an investigation into the issue, the SP said.

Rajib Dutta, the officer-in-charge of Belonia police station said that as per the complaint the Bangladeshi singer had abused Modi in a Facebook post calling him a "mere chaiwala (tea seller)'.

New Delhi, Jan 9: A Delhi court Thursday directed the makers of the Deepika Padukone starer feature film 'Chhapaak' to give credit to acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal’s lawyer in the movie.

Additional Civil Judge Pankaj Sharma said it was necessary that advocate Aparna Bhat's contribution is acknowledged.

"This Court is of the considered view that facts are indicative that the plea of the plaintiff for interim injunction is well-founded and it is necessary that her contribution be acknowledged by providing on the slide on the actual footage and the images, the line 'Aparna Bhat continues to fight the cases of sexual and physical violence against women' during the screening of the film.

"The said line on screen maybe with a rider that the same is with the court order," the judge said.

Advocate Bhat filed the application saying that despite representing Agarwal in courts for several years and helping in the movie-making, she was not given credit in the movie.

She said the filmmakers took her help in the entire process of writing and shooting the movie, but did not give the credit.
