Mumbai, Jun 11: Just a week after actress Jiah Khan committed suicide at her Juhu residence, her boyfriend Suraj Pancholi, son of actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zareena Wahab, was arrested by the Juhu police on Monday on the charge of abetment to suicide.

“Suraj was taken to the police station for questioning on Monday around 6.30pm. We arrested him after the questioning. We charged him under Section 306 (abetment to commit suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” said senior police inspector Arun Bhagat of Juhu police station. Suraj (22) will be produced before the Andheri court on Tuesday.

Suraj was arrested on the basis of a six-page suicide note written by the actress. In the note, Jiah had stated that she was heartbroken because of Suraj’s “womanising”. The letter was found by Jiah’s younger sister on June 7. In the letter that is not addressed to anybody, Jiah wrote that she was cheated by the person she loved and had been forced to abort her unborn child.

Jiah’s mother Rabiya Khan on Monday claimed that her daughter suffered “trauma and abuse” at the hands of Suraj and his father Aditya. The note mentions the “deep hurt” the actress felt at having to abort her baby with Suraj and reflects the turbulent relationship she had with Suraj.

Jiah’s family submitted the letters to Juhu police on Saturday and recorded her mother and sister’s statement again in front of independent witness. The note says, “When I first met you (Suraj) I was driven, ambitious and disciplined. Then I fell for you, a love I thought would bring out the best in me. I don’t know why destiny brought us together. After all the pain, the rape, the abuse, the torture I have seen previously I didn’t deserve this.”

“I’ve lost everything. If you’re reading this I might have already left or about to leave. I am broken inside,” it says. “It didn’t matter how many gifts I gave you or how beautiful I looked for you. I was scared of getting pregnant but I gave myself completely (the) pain you have caused me everyday destroyed my soul.”

Artist Swapnil Pawar transformed Khurrana into the 'Joker' through his artwork which the actor posted on his Instagram.

"Do I really look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it ... I'm an Agent of Chaos!" Khurrana quoted a famous dialogue from the film 'Joker' in the caption.

The 35-year-old actor, who hasn't played an outright negative role in his career further revealed his fascination for negative characters in the caption.

"Sinister, menacing, evil, cold, conniving yet brilliant, genius - have always thought of playing a negative character like Joker. Thank you @swapnilmpawar for reading my mind and this incredible artwork!" he wrote.

Khurrana believes that though it is good to portray different roles and he would love to play a negative character but the message at the end should be positive.

"I will be happy to play a negative character. I would love to play a morally corrupt person. That will be out of my realm. But the message, at the end of the day, should be positive. I don't want to endorse wrongdoings on screen," he said.

The new look of the 'Article 15' actor won hearts as the post was flooded with scores of comments from his fans.

Washington, Jan 11: Fresh off his win at the Golden Globes, actor Joaquin Phoenix participated in a climate change protest and was arrested by the police.

The "Joker" star took part in the weekly protests against climate change, started by Hollywood veteran Jane Fonda.

According to Variety, the 45-year-old actor also addressed the crowd of close to 300 people.

In his short speech, he took aim at the meat and dairy industry for being the third leading cause of the climate crisis.

"Sometimes we wonder what can we do in this fight against climate change, and there is something that you can do today and tomorrow, by making a choice about what you consume," Phoenix said.

"There are things I can't avoid. I flew a plane here today, or last night rather, but one thing I can do is change my eating habits," he added.

Besides Phoenix, veteran Hollywood star Martin Sheen also turned up for the protest and got arrested by the police. Actors Maggie Gyllenhaal and Susan Sarandon were also present.

Capitol Police said it arrested 147 people who were charged with crowding, obstructing or incommoding. All the protestors were later released.

Fonda, who was on stage with Phoenix, called him "one of the greatest living actors today".

She has been protesting weekly as part of her "Fire Drill Fridays" initiative since announcing she was moving to Washington "to be closer to the epicenter of the fight for our climate." Her participation has ended in multiple arrests.

Earlier this month, Phoenix had talked about climate change at the Golden Globes ceremony, asking Hollywood to walk the talk on the issue.
