Mumbai, Jun 17: Tamil superstar Dhanush, who is married to Rajnikanth's daughter Aishwarya, says being the son-in-law of the iconic actor has not helped or affected his career.

Dhanush got married to Aishwarya in 2004.

"Being his son-in-law doesn't do anything to me actually. I have always done my own work. It (his name) neither helped me nor affected me," Dhanush said in an interview.

He says it's not worth comparing his work with that of his father-in-law as their styles of working are quite different.

"My choice of films are different. My method of acting is completely different from his. So there is no room for comparison. And comparing a 20-25 films old guy with an icon is absolutely rubbish," he said.

Dhanush is making his Bollywood debut with Raanjhanaa, but the actor says he has not discussed about the film with his father-in-law.

"To be very honest he has been very busy with his work while I've been with mine. We haven't spoken about this film yet," he said, adding he never discusses work with his dad-in-law.

When asked about Aishwarya's reaction about him doing a Hindi film, Dhanush said she is yet to watch it, but right now they are quite thrilled that he is speaking in Hindi.

Dhanush will be seen romancing Sonam Kapoor in Raanjhanaa which also features Abhay Deol, Swara Bhaskar and Suraj Singh. It is set to hit the screens on June 21.

Even before his film releases, Dhanush has decided to do yet another Hindi movie with the same director Aanand L Rai.

"Yes I am doing my next film here with Aanand sir. We share a very good rapport. When we were shooting for Raanjhanaa, we came up with an idea and it was very fascinating. I thought we would do something later, but when we finished Raanjhanaa we got very close to each other and then I agreed for the film," said Dhanush.

However, the actor refused to divulge details about the film, saying it is too early to say which genre it falls into. But he revealed that he is co-producing the project.

Mumbai, May 17: TV actor Manmeet Grewal, who worked on shows like "Aadat Se Majboor" and "Kuldeepak", committed suicide after struggling with dwindling finances amid lockdown, family friend-producer Manjit Singh Rajput said.

Grewal, who was originally from Punjab, hanged himself on Friday night at his Kharghar residence here where he lived with his wife. He was 32.

Rajput, who had known Grewal for nearly seven years, said the actor was facing "financial crisis" and wasn't able to earn due to the lockdown.

"He was going through a major financial issue and he was also in depression. The added pressure of not being able to repay loans amid this (no work phase) got to him. His wife is completely shocked and devastated," Rajput told PTI.

The producer said last rites of the actor were performed on Saturday.

Grewal was working on projects like a webseries and some commercials, which were put on hold due to the nationwide lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Washington, Mar 23: Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, US media reported Sunday.

Harvey Weinstein, 68, is in prison in northern New York state after being sentenced to 23 years in jail for rape and sexual assault.

The fallen film producer's diagnosis was first reported Sunday evening by local paper the Niagara Gazette.

Harvey Weinstein's spokespeople have declined to comment to US media on the subject.

The New York state Department of Corrections did not respond when contacted by AFP for confirmation of the reports.

Harvey Weinstein was transferred Wednesday to a prison near Buffalo, 350 miles (560 kilometers) northwest of New York City.

Prior to his transfer, he stayed at Rikers Island prison and a Manhattan hospital, where he was treated for chest pains.

Crowded US prisons have the potential to become hotbeds for coronavirus infections. Last week, guards at Rikers and New York's Sing Sing prison tested positive for the virus, local media reported.

As of Sunday, the virus has killed 417 people in the US out of more than 33,000 cases, according to a tracker managed by Johns Hopkins University.

Harvey Weinstein was convicted in February of a criminal sexual act in the first degree and rape in the third degree, while being cleared of predatory sexual assault charges.

He was convicted of raping ex-actress Jessica Mann in 2013 and of forcibly performing oral sex on former production assistant Mimi Haleyi in 2006.

Nearly 90 women, including Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek, have leveled sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein, the Oscar-winning producer of "Shakespeare in Love" and numerous other critical and box office hits.

The 'Tamasha' actor started voicing her opinion on the importance of mental health through her foundation 'The Live Love Laugh Foundation' (TLLLF) in June 2015. Through the platform, the actor keeps launching nationwide awareness as well as destigmatisation campaigns.

Meanwhile, scores of comments followed on her latest post on mental health, where netizens too shared their take on mental health.
