My relationship with Salman beyond one-upmanship: SRK

August 11, 2013

Salman_beyond_SRKNew Delhi, Aug 11: Shah Rukh Khan has been shying away from commenting on his much publicised hug with Salman Khan but the actor says they have become more mature and their relationship is no longer about one-upmanship.

"It has gone beyond this (one-upmanship). There is no question of bowing or making him bow now. It may have been the case two-three years ago. Whether he should speak first or I should... we have become more mature now," SRK said while replaying to Rajat Sharma during his show 'Aap Ki Adalat' on India TV, to be telecast tomorrow.

The two actors fell out after a fight at Salman's ex-girlfriend, Katrina Kaif's birthday party in 2008 but they were seen hugging each other at MLA Baba Siddique's Iftaar party this July, sparking speculation that they were friends again.

When Sharma asked whether he would invite Salman to watch his upcoming release "Chennai Express", Shah Rukh said this may happen in future.

"Even I am not watching 'Chennai Express' this Eid as I am celebrating the festival... but actually most certainly, if there is an Eid function at my house or they have a function in their house, then invitations will go from both sides. It will happen someday. We will be more mature, either he will come or I will go to his house. everything would be fine."

Shah Rukh, who worked with Salman in films like "Karan Arjun", "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", "Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam" and "Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega", said he respected Salman as an actor and star.

"I have great respect for him, not only as a friend and as a family but as a star and as an actor. They helped me when I first came to Bollywood though I am the senior." @Body:

Aamir Khan had once stirred a controversy by saying that his ped dog's name was Shah Rukh. Asked to comment on that, SRK said, "Well, I didn't find the joke about the dog funny, but then I decided to behave like a dog and hit back."

Shah Rukh said he regretted losing his control during the IPL match at Wankhede stadium last year though he believes his behaviour was not wrong as a father.

"Yes, I was very angry. There were some people who were not behaving well with the children whom I had brought to watch the match. One of the men made a cheap remark and I lost my cool. After that incident, I have decided that I will never get angry in public... My wife Gauri and my children told me that I should not have reacted in this manner. I regret my behaviour," the actor said.

The actor also joked about being held up at the US airport twice, saying they have a terrorist who uses 'Shah Rukh Khan' as an alias.

"The American embassy apologised when it happened the first time but when it happened the next time, they told me that there is a terrorist who uses Shah Rukh Khan as an alias.

"So when I am at any US airport, they key in my name in the computer and then they ask me to wait... they are very polite but make you wait for four five hours. They check everything except making you remove your clothes," he added.

Mumbai, Jul 19: Mumbai Police have registered an FIR against two Instagram account holders for allegedly threatening actor Rhea Chakraborty, an official said on Sunday.

The location of the two accused is yet to be traced, the official said, adding that the investigation in the case is at primary stage.

Chakraborty on Thursday requested the cyber crime cell to look into the rape and murder threats she has been receiving ever since the death of close friend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Rajput, 34, was found dead in his apartment in suburban Bandra here on June 14, leaving people in the film industry and audiences shocked.

Chakraborty, in particular, was subjected to online hate with users blaming her for Rajput's suicide.

"We registered the First Information Report (FIR) on Saturday under Indian Penal Code Sections 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication), 509 (intending to insult modesty of any woman) and relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act," Santacruz police station's senior inspector Shriram Koregaonkar said.

"No arrest has been made so far. We are conducting an investigation in the case," he added.

On Thursday, sharing a screenshot of a hate message she received on Instagram, Chakraborty said while she had ignored many abusive texts sent to her in the past month, the harassment was now unbearable.

The 28-year-old actor eventually disabled the comments section of her Instagram page.

Chakraborty, known for films such as "Mere Dad Ki Maruti" and "Jalebi", had tagged the cyber cell and requested the authorities to look into the threats.

On June 18, she was called to the Bandra police station to record her statement in connection with Rajput's death.

Mumbai, Jan 9: Actor Juhi Chawla on Wednesday said instead of constantly criticising the government, one should reflect on own conduct and talk about uniting rather than dividing.

The actor attended an event which aimed to counter "Free Kashmir (narrative), anti-India slogans, false propaganda and clear the misconception."

Juhi said as artistes, it's unfair to be questioned about incidents "just for a reaction" when they should be given time to truly understand the situation.

"We are going to work, thinking how to execute our task, then some incident happens somewhere and suddenly the media asks, 'what do you think about this?' We haven't understood the matter, people haven't understood the matter but you need a reaction.

"Let people understand, whether it's NRC or CAA, and what's is it about, why is this being talked about," Juhi told reporters.

The actor said it is sad that people talk about division more than unity.

"Everyone is quick to talk about dividing. Why don't we talk about uniting? Why does everyone say 'what is the government doing, why is it doing this?' but I say if you point one finger there then three fingers are at you.

Chennai, Jul 30: Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli on Wednesday said he and his family members have tested positive for coronavirus and are currently quarantined at home.

The director, best known for his epic fantasy hit Baahubali series, said they got tested after they developed mild fever recently which subsided by itself.

“My family members and I developed a slight fever few days ago. It subsided by itself but we got tested nevertheless. The result has shown a mild COVID positive today. We have home quarantined as prescribed by the doctors (sic)” he said.

In a subsequent tweet, Rajamouli said he and his kin are asymptomatic and “feeling better”. They are, however, following all the precautions and instructions.

“Just waiting to develop antibodies so that we can donate our plasma,” he added.

Before the coronavirus-induced nationwide lockdown was announced in March, the filmmaker was working on his upcoming period action drama Rise Roar Revolt.

The Telugu film, featuring actors Ram Charan and NTR Jr in the lead, is a fictional tale based on the lives of two freedom fighters in early 20th century.

Andhra Pradesh witnessed its worst single day spike of coronavirus on Wednesday, 10,000 plus cases, as the other southern states, including Tamil Nadu and Karnataka also reported high daily numbers, although they saw a dip in the infections.

The cumulative tally of southern states — AP, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala and the Union Territory of Puducherry was 24,855 on Wednesday.
