‘Happy New Year’ cast in Emirati attire

Dubai, Sep 13: Actor Shah Rukh Khan and the team of “Happy New Year” who are shooting in Dubai donned traditional wear - Kandoura and Abaya- for a press met here.

'The idea of donning up this local look comes from Abhishek Bachchan so we all would thank him for that. We are happy to be dressed like this... when we looked at mirror, many of us look like locals,” Shah Rukh said during the press conference to announce collaboration with Dubai Film and TV Commission.

While Shah Rukh walked the press conference donning a black Kandoura, rest of the actors wore the traditional white Kandoura. Leading ladies Deepika Padukone and Farah Khan wore black Abaya.

Shah Rukh says it’s a wonderful experience to shoot in Dubai.

”Dubai is a beautiful city. It has a great scenic balance of ancient and modern architecture. It’s not just the shopping capital of the Middle East but is a perfect location for a film shoot. We have been shooting for our film since Sep 2nd Dubai is like home for me and I have loved every bit of experience of shooting for ‘Happy New Year’ here.”

Dubai Film and TV Commission in collaboration with Atlantis, The Palm are extending their full support for the smooth production of the hotly-anticipated Bollywood film. The first schedule of “Happy New Year” which is currently going on in Dubai will perhaps continue till Sep 25.

Dubai Film and TV Commission chairman Jamal Al Sharif said: “’Happy New Year’ is a true mark of success that can be achieved through the collaboration of public and private entities in Dubai.

”In close partnership with Atlantis, The Palm Emirates and DTCM, we are delighted to help facilities the latest venture from Farah Khan and Red Chillies Entertainments, and showcase Dubai as a world class filming destination.”

Directed by Farah Khan, “Happy New Year” features Shah Rukh and Deepika in lead.

Kochi, Feb 7: The younger brother of noted playback singer K J Yesudas was found dead in the backwaters near here, police said.

The body of 62-year old K J Justin, who had reportedly gone missing from his house in Thrikkakara near here on Tuesday evening was found floating in the backwaters near Vallarpadam Container Terminal on Wednesday, they said.

The relatives identified the body, police said adding it was later sent for autopsy at General Hospital here.

A General Hospital spokesperson said the body was handed over to his relatives on Thursday evening after autopsy was performed.

The funeral is expected to be held after the arrival of Yesudas from abroad, police sources said.

Police said the initial investigation suggested it was a case of suicide.

According to police, Jusin's relatives have informed the investigation team that he had been showing signs of suicidal tendency for the last one week as he was allegedly facing some financial problem.

His relatives were not available for comments.

Son of the renowned musician late Augustine Joseph, Justin is survived by his wife.

Justin had been a regular presence at popular ganamela programmes here in the past, sources said.

Chennai, Feb 10: The Income Tax Department on Monday summoned Tamil actor Vijay over charges of tax evasion and his alleged links with financier Anbu Chezhiyan.

The development comes after the IT Department on Friday carried out a raid at the actor's residence in Panaiyur area in Chennai.

IT sleuths held searches in connection with the success of a recent film which was a Box Office hit, collecting around Rs 300 crore.

As per sources, the IT Department on Thursday recovered Rs 65 crores from the residence of Vijay's alleged financer in Chennai during raids which were carried out in the connection with the tax evasion case linked to AGS Cinemas.

New Delhi, Aug 4: Almost two months after the demise of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, actor Preity Zinta on Tuesday watched his last film 'Dil Bechara' for the second time and said it was an 'emotional roller coaster'.

The 'Kal Ho Na Ho' actor shared a picture of one of the scenes from the film on Instagram and thanked film director Mukesh Chhabra for doing justice to the 'Kai Po Che!' actor's last film.

"Saw #Dilbechara again Thank you @castingchhabra for doing full justice to Sushant's last movie," she wrote in the caption.
"It was surreal, a tearjerker and an emotional roller coaster all the way," she added.

She also praised Sushant's co-actor Sanjana Sanghi for doing a "fab job" in the film which happens to be her debut flick.

"@sanjanasanghi96 U and the rest of the cast did a fab job. Congratulations to all of you. #Bittersweet #MissU," the 45-year-old actor further wrote.

Produced by Fox Star Studios, 'Dil Bechara' has been adapted from the famous John Green novel 'The Fault In Our Stars.'

Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai's Bandra residence on June 14.
