Ratan Rajput evicted from 'Bigg Boss'

Ratan_RajputNew Delhi, Oct 13: TV star Ratan Rajput has become the fourth celebrity to be evicted from the Bigg Boss after staying in the house for 28 days.

Ratan Rajput, who became a household name by starring in the serial 'Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo' and her 'Swayamvar' on TV, regrets participating in the show as she could not fit there.

"I miscalculated my strength. When I look back, I feel I lost 28 days of my life. It was a wrong decision to participate in the show, it did not suit me though there is nothing wrong with the show. The other people in 'Bigg Boss' came with a plan. Everything is for the camera there and you can't consider anyone a friend. I felt lonely and out of place," Rajput told PTI soon after her exit from the show.

A relieved Rajput said she would never consider getting back in the 'Bigg Boss' house and is still phobic about cameras.

"I learnt many things from the show and I think I can't play a game like that where everyone is backbiting and gossiping about you. I am better off in the real world. I think I will take a break and spend some time with my family first," she added.

In the Salman Khan hosted reality show, 14 celebrity contestants are holed up in a house for three months without any connection from real world with cameras following their every movement.

One of them gets eliminated every week on the basis of audience's vote after a nomination by house members.

Mumbai, May 30: Actor Vaani Kapoor on Saturday said she will go on a virtual date with five people as part of an initiative to raise money for daily wage earners, who have been affected due to the nationwide lockdown implemented to rein in coronavirus.

Vaani has teamed up with actor Arjun Kapoor's sister Anshula Kapoor’s online fundraising platform, Fankind, to raise funds for daily wage workers.

Vaani and Fankind have come together to provide five of her fans a chance to go on a virtual date with her - by donating to provide food to daily wage workers.

“As human beings, we will need to come forward and support as many people as possible in need due to the coronavirus pandemic in our country. I’m doing my bit to support the daily wage earners of our country and their families who are in dire situations given the lockdown.

“My activity, in which five lucky winners can have a virtual date with me, will see us collect funds to help feed them and their families across the country," Vaani said in a statement.

Earlier, Arjun too supported the initiative to help daily wage earners.

According to the press release, the funds will go to GiveIndia, a non-profit organisation, which will provide hot cooked meals to wage earners and their families. Each meal costs Rs 30 and will be delivered in various areas of Maharashtra, Bangalore, and Chennai.

A.T.E. Chandra Foundation has also come on board and will be adding 25 percent of the total donation value collected as a matching amount, thereby multiplying the impact, the release said.

Chennai, Jan 15: Superstar Rajinikanth on Tuesday called for neutrality in journalism and urged media outlets to report the truth.

Addressing an event organised by Tamil magazine ''Thuglak' in Chennai, the superstar-turned-politician said that the country needs a journalist like the late Cho S Ramaswamy, who helmed the publication for decades.

"The times, politics and society are going bad. In such a scenario, the media had a huge responsibility towards the people," he said.

Some television channels are biased towards political parties, Rajinikanth said. He added that media, critics and journalists must report the truth impartially.

Comparing true news to milk and fake reportage to water, Rajinikanth said people will not be able to distinguish between the two if they are mixed.

"Only journalists need to tell which portion is milk and which is water...write the truth and don't make a lie seem like truth," he said, amid applause.
