October 26, 2013

Shilpa_ShettyMumbai, Oct 26: Actress Shilpa Shetty, who gave industry some popular dance numbers like Main Aayi Hoon UP Bihar Lootne, Shut Up and Bounce, says she misses dancing.

Shilpa is judging the sixth season of celebrity dance reality show Nach Baliye along with director Sajid Khan and ace choreographer Terence Lewis.

"It feels like it (the show) has just got over.. But it is a new season with new contestants and a thinner version of me. It takes time to reduce weight after the baby. I miss dancing and miss being part of this whole madness. When I look at my child, I don't miss it. So this works well as it is a TV show and it lets me connect with my fans," she said.

This season has an interesting line up of celebrity couples including comedian Raju and Shika Shrivastav, Raquesh Vashisht and Riddhi Dogra, Gurmeet Choudhary with Debina, Bruna Abdullah and Omar Farooquie, Ritwik Dhanjani and Asha Negi among others.

"This time we have got really interesting contestants.. Especially there is one guy named Vinod Thakur he is handicapped, doesn't have both legs, but he is dancing. It made me feel more grateful to God. He has a great spirit and is very positive," Shilpa said.

"I am amazed.. I am looking forward to seeing them. We have people from different milieu like Raju Shrivastav who is hilarious; Kiku who has entertained us will also be seen dancing. Each one of them has a USP and there are interesting contestants this time," she said.

She is happy that her co-judges are the same. "I am so happy that we all three are back. We respect each other's opinion. It is great fun to be doing the show together again, Shilpa adds.

A year after giving birth to son Viaan, Shilpa lost a lot of weight and got back her toned, fit self. In the show, this time she will be seen in traditional wear.

"Last time I wore both Indian and western attires but this time I am going completely Indian and will wear saris only. I want to do a take on wearing saris in different ways. People loved my look in the show, this shows how much people follow TV and what we are wearing etc," she said.

"I am here to entertain people and if my clothes entertain them I am more than happy. I have the same stylist Nandita," she added.

Washington, Mar 23: Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, US media reported Sunday.

Harvey Weinstein, 68, is in prison in northern New York state after being sentenced to 23 years in jail for rape and sexual assault.

The fallen film producer's diagnosis was first reported Sunday evening by local paper the Niagara Gazette.

Harvey Weinstein's spokespeople have declined to comment to US media on the subject.

The New York state Department of Corrections did not respond when contacted by AFP for confirmation of the reports.

Harvey Weinstein was transferred Wednesday to a prison near Buffalo, 350 miles (560 kilometers) northwest of New York City.

Prior to his transfer, he stayed at Rikers Island prison and a Manhattan hospital, where he was treated for chest pains.

Crowded US prisons have the potential to become hotbeds for coronavirus infections. Last week, guards at Rikers and New York's Sing Sing prison tested positive for the virus, local media reported.

As of Sunday, the virus has killed 417 people in the US out of more than 33,000 cases, according to a tracker managed by Johns Hopkins University.

Harvey Weinstein was convicted in February of a criminal sexual act in the first degree and rape in the third degree, while being cleared of predatory sexual assault charges.

He was convicted of raping ex-actress Jessica Mann in 2013 and of forcibly performing oral sex on former production assistant Mimi Haleyi in 2006.

Nearly 90 women, including Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek, have leveled sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein, the Oscar-winning producer of "Shakespeare in Love" and numerous other critical and box office hits.

New Delhi, Jun 24: Actor Bhumi Pednekar supported migrant labourers traveling long distances amid the coronavirus pandemic, in a rather unique way- by donating footwear to them.

The gut-wrenching images of migrants walking barefoot on the roads made the 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' actor take the plunge to help them.

Pednekar joined hands with a footwear company and a volunteer-based non-government organisation - The Robin Hood Army - to help the underprivileged with footwear.

The actor helped over 1000 migrant labourers in and around Ghaziabad in Murad Nagar, Govindpuram, Vijay Nagar, and distributed footwear among men and women across age-groups.

Mumbai, Jan 9: Actor Juhi Chawla on Wednesday said instead of constantly criticising the government, one should reflect on own conduct and talk about uniting rather than dividing.

The actor attended an event which aimed to counter "Free Kashmir (narrative), anti-India slogans, false propaganda and clear the misconception."

Juhi said as artistes, it's unfair to be questioned about incidents "just for a reaction" when they should be given time to truly understand the situation.

"We are going to work, thinking how to execute our task, then some incident happens somewhere and suddenly the media asks, 'what do you think about this?' We haven't understood the matter, people haven't understood the matter but you need a reaction.

"Let people understand, whether it's NRC or CAA, and what's is it about, why is this being talked about," Juhi told reporters.

The actor said it is sad that people talk about division more than unity.

"Everyone is quick to talk about dividing. Why don't we talk about uniting? Why does everyone say 'what is the government doing, why is it doing this?' but I say if you point one finger there then three fingers are at you.
