Deepika Padukone working hard to be a great dancer in 'Happy New Year'

November 7, 2013

Deepika_PadukoneMumbai, Nov 7: Actress Deepika Padukone, who will play an out-of-work bar dancer in 'Happy New Year', says she is working hard to be a great dancer in the film.

"Farah had a list of do's for the actress. I will prepare for it like any other film. If I am required to be a great dancer in the film, I will have to work damn hard. She wants a girl who is Maharashtrian, good dancer and a specific look. Manish Malhotra is doing my clothes, my hair stylist is there, I hope it turns out good," Deepika said.

Deepika has just completed one schedule of the Farah Khan directed film and will shoot the rest in April.

Her character in the film influences the lives of his co-stars - Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Vivaan Shah and Boman Irani - as all of them are dancers and Deepika will help them win a dance trophy.

Deepika is riding high on the success of her last three releases- 'Race 2', 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' and 'Chennai Express'.

Her last release 'Chennai Express' was aired on Zee TV last month and it managed to grab maximum eyeballs, taking Zee TV to be the number one channel.

"Record after record in our kitty, I am very happy. It is a great feeling.... Whether we like it or not, it (film) did get lot of love and appreciation. Forget it on TV, people even went to see the film again in theatres. It is that kind of the film that has repeat value. It is a wholesome entertainer. When you make the film from heart, I think this can be the end result (records)," she said.

But the records aren't putting much pressure on Deepika.

"I take each film as it comes. I put same kind of effort for 'Ram-Leela' as in 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' and 'Chennai Express'. I have done the film with the same kind of hard work, conviction and honesty. I hope the end result is same as my previous films," Deepika said.
