Honnavar, Sep 10: A 21-year-old boy and a 28-year-old girl whose Facebook friendship led to deep love affair finally entered marital life in a traditional manner.
Aditya Pramod Bevur (21), a youth of Kelaginur village in Honnavar taluk, married Poland’s Mikhalina (28) at Ishwar temple in Ramatirth near Honnavar. “We became acquainted through Facebook. We will be together till our last breath,” said the new couple.
Mandya, Jul 6: With a journalist from Srirangapatna testing positive for Covid-19, the Mandya District Journalists Association was sealed as a precautionary measure.
Association President K C Manjunath said on Monday that as the reporter has tested positive for Covid-19, it was voluntarily decided to seal down the premises for another month.
Belagavi, Jan 16: Six Poachers were arrested in two different cases at Gollahalli forest range in Kittur section in the district on Thursday.
The arrested were identified as Bharmesh alias Bharmappa Hanumant Bhajantri, Mallesh Hanumant Bhajantri residents of Budanakatti in Bailahongal Taluk.
Another alleged accused Yuvraj Basappa Bhajantri managed to escape.
Mandya, Apr 3: Following the lock down in the country, people habit ventured into Liquor bottles worth several lakhs of rupees have been stolen at two places in the district.
Miscreants targeted a wine store at Chikka Mandya on the outskirts of the town in the early hours and also made away with the stock from a wine store near Hadly Circle in Malavalli town late night on Thursday. The incidents came to light on Friday.
A window was broken open at Chikka Mandya store and a wall was drilled at Malavalli store to take away the cartons, the police said.
