A feast of ‘Yakshagana’ marks KaDaM’s 9th anniversary in Ajman

Kundapura Devadiga Mitra (KaDaM) celebrated their 9th anniversary on Friday the 15th of November, 2019 at Habitat School Auditorium, Ajman.  The day long programme started at 11 am with traditional lighting the lamp by female members of KaDaM who inaugurated the event.

MC Nithyanand Beskoor welcomed the audience and chief guests and invited President KaDaM, Dinesh Chandrashekar Devadiga Nagoor to do the honours.

Chief Guests including Mahaligna Devadiga Uppunda, AGM of Corporation Bank, Bagalkote, Nagaraj D. Padukone, Businessman and Social Worker of L.G. Foundation, Padukone, Rajyotsava Awardee Lion B.G. Mohandas, Poitician Raju Devadiga, Veteran Seena Devadiga, H.S. Devadiga, President of Devadiga Sangha Dinesh Devadiga, Sitar Ratna Devadas Pai, Shodhan Prasad, Suresh Devadiga, Nithyanand Beskoor and other dignitaries were invited on to the stage and welcomed with flower bouquet.

Nithyanand later introduced the fellow MC’s of the day, Santosh, Shridhar, Santosh Kolnadu, Asha & Shashirekha who especially carried on the entertainment part of the show smoothly.

Yuvaraj Devadiga rendered the prayer song ‘Ganesha Sthuti’ followed by welcome dance by Dhanya Dinesh Devadiga & Shibani.  Pramod Kumar presented a beautiful song to start the entertainment section.

Followed was a Hindi filmy dance by Advik, Ayush, Pratham, Rusham, Sriansh & Shrishanth which was mesmerizing.  Later Suresh Devadiga sang a beautiful folk number of Legend Dr. C. Ashwath ‘Mareyabeda’ which was well applauded.

Dhanya Dinesh Devadiga later presented a semi classical dance ‘Omkara’ from Aaptharakshaka which was awesome.

Sanskriti Dance Group presented a filmy dance which was well performed by Nivedya, Sharanya, Laxmi, Elsa, nandana, sanjana, Neeralakshmi, Nethra, Sera, Shreeya & Taniskha.

Vasudeva Devadiga, Rathnakar Devadiga & Manjunath Devadiga presented a meaningful well performed comedy skit in Kannada.

Visiting Artiste Sitar Ratna Devadas Pai who was guest during the event was called to present a solo Sitar performance which got good response from the audience.

Beautiful Ladies of KaDaM,  Shashirekha, Kiran Beskoor, Hema, Reshma Pramod & Asha presented a well-choreographed Punjabi Group Dance which received a grand round of applause from the audience.

Dhanya, Shreesha &U Shreeya later presented a Hindi Filmy dance number followed by Golden Star Music who presented another dance number comprising of Padmaja Padnekar, Ridhi Padnekar, Krishnapriya, Mahalakshmi, Jithin P, Samyak & Samarth well-choreographed and applauded.

Sudhakar Devadiga read out the annual report of KaDaM from the inception to the 9th anniversary programme highlighting KaDaM’s active involvement in Community Social wellbeing including helping in education and medical emergencies back in India and Ekanatheshwara Temple.

All the Sponsors and Well-wishers were invited on to the stage and honoured with flowers, shawl and mementos.

DEVADIGA SADAKA PRASHASTI AWARD:

Nagaraj D. Padukone, Businessman and Social Worker of L.G. Foundation, Padukone washonoured with ‘Devadiga Sadaka Prashasti’ Award during the occasion.

GUEST OF HONOUR:

Lion B.G. Mohandas who is the founder of Gulf Kannadiga.com and also the honorary advisor of KaDaM was honoured during the programme for having received the Karnataka State Rajyotsava Award 2019 recently.

‘KUSHA LAVA KALAGA’ YAKSHAGANA BALLET

The special attraction of the day was Yakshagana Ballet ‘Kusha Lava Kalaga’ which was beautifully presented by Shree Kshethtra Maranakatte Shree Brahmalingeshwara Yakshagana Mandali and was the first time in UAE.  This started after the lunch till late evening.

The artistes comprised of Ravi Devadiga Soralu as Bhagavathar, Chethan Acharya in Chende, Mahabaleshwara Gowda in Maddale with participants Irabailu Ananda Shetty as Rama, Sheena Devadiga Nagoor as Shatrughana, Kolali Krishna Shetty as Kusha, Vaataru Raveendra Shetty as Lava and Shekar Shetty Yelaberu in a comic role.  Sheena Devadiga Nagoor conducted this ballet in a traditional way which was very well applauded by all the audience.

Family Members of KaDaM and Volunteers actively took part in the celebration in making the event a grand success.

Luck Draw, Prize Distribution, honoring the participants and some other guests were done systematically after that.

The programme got concluded with ‘Vote of Thanks’ by Nithyanand Beskoor.

Riyadh, Jan 28: The celebration of the 71st Republic Day was held on January 26th by the Central Committee of the Indian Social Forum Riyadh at the Ramada Hotel Auditorium in Riyadh. People from different Indian states and different religious backgrounds were present during the event.

The program was inaugurated with the unity song, Saleem Moulavi– Regional committee member India Fraternity Forum/Riyadh inaugurated the program.

Social Forum Central Committee president Janab Harris Mangaluru chaired the program and welcomed the guests. In his presidential speech he described and uncovered stories of freedom struggle and participants of Indian Muslims for the freedom fight. He urged everyone to fight against unconstitutional Citizenship Amendment Bill which passed by Centre government. He said that the We will continue its agitation against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the NRC and would not relent unless the Union government withdrew the Act.

Indian Social Forum Karnataka State Committee member Janab Mohammed Naveed delivered the Republic Day message. He said India was formed based on concept of ‘unity in diversity’ and it becomes every Indians’ responsibility to safeguard it. He expressed concern over CAA, NRC and NPR. Across India, students at other universities are against the Citizenship Amendment Act passed by Centre government.  The law offers amnesty to undocumented migrants from three neighboring Muslim-majority countries but only if they are non-Muslim. Critics say that by excluding Muslims, the law establishes a religious test for Indian citizenship, in violation of the secularism enshrined in India's constitution. The Indians, irrespective of caste, creed, religion and region have firmly resolved to oppose the draconian laws and fascist moves to debar the poor. Constitution granted to every person and citizen of India who are not ready to put them on a test of ideology of RSS and programs of BJP to implement the Brahmanist mind-set. He said that the police atrocities against CAA/NRC/NPR protesters had increased only in BJP-ruled States and  there were several loose ends in the police story about the incidents leading to the firing.

Doha: Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF) once again set an example that no caste, creed, language and religion comes as hurdle for their humanitarian services and helped to perform last rites of Ramesh who committed suicide in Doha-Qatar.

45-year-old Ramesh son of K. Nagan hailing from Panikulam, Thrissur district in Kerala, who was working as a tailor committed suicide in his house at Ruwias in Qatar on 30th May 2020.

On hearing this news, some of his friends in Kearla informed Mr. Shihab who is also from Thrissur and a member of QISF and the same was brought to the notice of QISF humanitarian team head Mr. Abdul Latheef Madikeri and Basheer Ahmed of Tamil Nadu.

Immediately, the QISF team intervened and contacted the family members of the deceased in India and discussed the matter and consequences of sending the body back home to India in this pandemic COVID 19 situation.

Considering the prevailing situation, the family members gave the consent to bury the body in Qatar itself.

QISF team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation.

Finally, the body of the deceased was buried in Qatar on 7th June 2020 and the copies of all the relevant documents have been handed over to the family members.

The family members of the deceased thanked and applauded the leaders and all the members of QISF for their effective and on time humanitarian service rendered even in this pandemic crisis and having no bias.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.
