Flights diverted from Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jun 19: Poor visibility owing to adverse weather forced the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to divert four flights from landing at Mangaluru International Airport on Sunday.

The flights were diverted to Bengaluru and Kozhikode since early hours on Sunday. But all flights landed here after 8.30 a.m. once the visibility was clear.

No flights were cancelled, according to V.V. Rao, director of the airport.

Mandya, Jul 6: With a journalist from Srirangapatna testing positive for Covid-19, the Mandya District Journalists Association was sealed as a precautionary measure.

Association President K C Manjunath said on Monday that as the reporter has tested positive for Covid-19, it was voluntarily decided to seal down the premises for another month.

Bengaluru, Apr 6: Popular Kannada comedy actor Prakash, popularly known as Bullet Prakash in the film industry, died due to multi-organ failure at a private hospital in the City on Monday.

He was 44.

He is survived by wife, one son and a daughter.

Belagavi, Jan 16: Six Poachers were arrested in two different cases at Gollahalli forest range in Kittur section in the district on Thursday.

The arrested were identified as Bharmesh alias Bharmappa Hanumant Bhajantri, Mallesh Hanumant Bhajantri residents of Budanakatti in Bailahongal Taluk.

Another alleged accused Yuvraj Basappa Bhajantri managed to escape.
