Fun-filled evening keeps ‘JF Coastal Festival 2015’ crowd ecstatic

Dammam: The month of April 2015 began with a dreadful sand-storm which kept the people’s mood unstable and for many days the weather kept alarming the uncertainty in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia. On April 16, Jam’iyyatul Falah’s volunteers had the faith in Allah and His blessings and kept their preparation in full swing for the annual event of family-get-together ‘JF Coastal Festival 2015’. The pleasant evening had extinguished the fear of misfortune and brought back the mood of festival with a huge gathering of above 1500 people.

The promise made by the JF event organizers had given the crowd a wonderful opportunity to bring together the spirit of Mangaluru and created the environment of Festival. The theme of the event ‘Our Community is Better Together’ has fulfilled with joy and excitement. Men, women and children had discovered an amazing native atmosphere of Mangaluru.

The radiant and enjoyable social event offered by one of the distinguished society of Mangalore Diaspora arranged by the charitable organization ‘Jam’iyyatul Falah’ (Dammam Unit), a Karnataka State award winner for .Best NGO.

The evening was filled with fun and frolic, Quran recitation competition for different age groups children, Quiz Competition for Adult and different types of games for Children and Adult with much more fun and excitement had kept the crowd entertaining till 3:00am. The event also brought together the spirit & essence of Karnataka.

The celebration commenced as scheduled with an introductory speech by the President of JF Dammam Unit Mohammad Wahid and the Qirath by Master Salman Ashraf had opened team event. Immediately followed the dinner and the dinner was the ‘Taste of the Evening’ which squeezed and jammed the crowd to taste the scrumptious and lip-smacking food catered by the famous Indian Restaurant “Batkhal House” of Dammam. The mouth-watering Indian cuisine creates a center of attention to the crowd and enjoyed the yummy and delicious native taste.

The attractive kiosk from Al Jufailah Corporation, the sole distributor of Al-Kabeer Frozen Products, had pulled the crowd with their appetizing aroma to taste the sample of their new products. Suhana Travel sponsored one-way Air-Ticket to Mangalore for the winner of Raffle prizes. Diamond Gift voucher sponsored by Malabar Gold, Al-Khobar.

The entire evening was filled with various funs and exciting games for children and adults and it was well organized by Javed Saeed and his team. The attractive prizes were presented to all the winners immediately after each game. The evening was later triggered with “Quiz Competition” and the Quiz Master very efficiently and meticulously handled the competition and did a commendable job by keeping the crowd entertained.

All programs and its activities were conducted under Islamic environment and the event had provided a book stall by Shanthi Prakashana which displayed the Islamic books in Kannada language.

JF Members kept the momentum moving by diverting the crowd with the announcement of each winner of 20 Raffle Prizes, which was drawn after every 15 minutes and the winning excitement in every person made the Raffle Round more ecstatic. The event also offered the Mega Prize and the winner took their prizes with wonderful memories of the delightful evening.

At the women’s section, several games were organized for different age groups. The girls were cherished and enjoyed the fun. The women’s organizing committee had skillfully managed the program and brilliantly implemented the games for adult and children which successfully accomplished the task provided to each volunteers. All the winners were presented with the attractive prizes.

The Ex-President P. B. A. Razak of JF-HQ in Mangalore on his visit of Saudi Arabia was felicitated during the Event. NRCC Ameer Mohammad Farook presented the Memento and Event Chairman Munaf draped the Shawl together with the Committee Members of JF Dammam Unit. The Mega event “JF Coastal Festival 2015” was exclusively sponsored by “Gulf Co-operation Symbols Contracting Co. Ltd.”, “NADA (Al-Othman Agri. Production and Processing Co.)” and “Azmeel Contracting Co.”.

The magnificent evening had witnessed the success of the Event and displayed the hard-work of the Event’s Working Committee. In the early hours of dawn, thrilled spectators made a reluctant exit from the venue, thoroughly lost in the magical spell cast on them during an unforgettable night. JF once again create an example to others by innovating and reaching for something even better.

Jeddah: Indian Pilgrims Welfare Forum (IPWF) under the patronage of consulate General of India Jeddah related to welfare activities connected to Indian hajj pilgrims in particular and welfare functions of Indian community at large, organized Quran recitation competition for Indian students of age 10 to 14 residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Grand Finale was conducted Live online via Zoom virtual conference on Friday 15th May 2020 at 14:45 Hrs.

The Consul General Of India, Jeddah and Vice Patron IPWF, H.E.Mr. Md. Noor Rahman Shiekh graced the Grand Finale as honorable Chief Guest. The HOC, Consul Hajj and Director IPWF - Mr. Y Sabir attended as Guest of Honor, while the ever-exuberant President of the forum Mr. Ayyub Hakeem lead the event. A large number of Indian dignitaries and media personnel also joined this live event.

Judges panel included three experienced youths. First judge was the Prominent Hafiz and one of the best Qaris of his calibre, Hafiz Ismail Yahya Bilal, well educated in Qirat from Umm Al Qura University Makkah and currently persuing Masters. He also holds many honors and accolades from various international competitions and appreciations from Imaams of Haramain. The other judge, Hafiz Abdullah A.Mateen Usmani, first position winner, a record for being youngest Indian to win Jeddah Quran competition 2018 under patronage of Jeddah Governor.  Hafiz Farhan Abdur Rab, was the third judge, an Engineer by profession, as well as current Treasurer at IPWF.

Winners; Humeirah Masood Kazi and Furqan Mohammed Vasi Ahmed won Gold position. Maryam Jaffar and Adil Abdul Rasheed ranked Silver while Khatija Ehtesham Ali and Nadeem Noorisha ranked Bronze. Consolation prizes were given to Aamina Mustafa and Mohammed Ahsan Ali. The event was organized to encourage and boost the ambitions of young generation and inspring them to bring out their best in Quran Recitation

While speaking at the event Chief Guest H.E.Mr. Md.Noor Rahman Sheikh appreciated the social works of IPWF for Indian Community, praised the brilliant performance of students, He said it gives us great pleasure seeing that all participants, Judges and Jury members are Indians, he said the recitation of the children was fantabulous, and congratulated to the winners and participants. Chief Guest further said President Ayyub Hakeem and his IPWF Team deserves to be appreciated for their relentless efforts for this Noble cause, even in this period when the world is observing lockdown.

HOC, Consul Hajj Mr. Y Sabir appreciated IPWF team for organizing this virtual competition, he said it’s really amazing that 111 students registered to participate for the contest, he appreciated the hard work of children and efforts of parents for preparing their children.

Mr. Hakeem welcomed all and informed that this competition received overwhelming response from Indian community locally and internationally in short time since its launch was just couple of days earlier. Which compliments events Objective to encourage children “mainly Indians residing in Saudi Arabia” especially during the month of Quran “Ramadan” and lockdown period #COVID-19. 

40 contestants made it to the Semifinals, and 15 Students reached the Grand Finale, 2 young children were given consolation for their enthusiastic recitation. 

The President also appreciated his IPWF Team for unwavering support in preparation of this event.  He thanked the Chief Guest, HE Mr. Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh and Guest of Honor Mr. Y Sabir for gracing this glorious competition. He Thanked the audience and announced that all contestants will be awarded appreciation “digital certificate’

Syed Nasir Khursheed anchored the program, and entertained with beautiful Urdu couplets. Farhan Abdur Rab and Abdul Rahman Poyakkara conducted the contest flawlessly on time. Farhan, concluded the event with Vote of Thanks and soleful dua.

Mangaluru, May 22: An elderly cardiac patient from Dakshina Kannada, who was stranded in Saudi Arabia due to covid-19 lock-down, has finally reached his homeland thanks to the timely intervention by Humanity Forum Jubail and Indian Social Forum.

The elderly man hailing from Kadaba area of Dakshina Kannada was admitted to a hospital in Madinah. However, his condition continued to worsen due to lack of proper treatment. The efforts by his family members to bring him back home had not yielded results.

Meanwhile, one of the relatives of the patient, Ansari Suratkal, who happens to be a DKSC activist, brought the issue to the notice of the Karnataka unit of the Indian Social Forum in Dammam. ISF contacted Humanity Forum president Zakariya Jokatte, who helped the patient to speak directly union minister D V Sadananda Gowda in a video conference organised by coastaldigest.com.

Humanity Forum also persuaded the Indian Embassy to allow the stranded cardiac patient to fly back to India through Dammam-Bengaluru repatriation flight on May 20. 

However, it was not easy for the patient to travel from Madinah to Dammam International Airport due to lock-down and curfew. ISF not only obtained travel permission for him but also arranged vehicle. Jeddah and Riyadh units of ISF helped in obtaining permission letter in their respective places in spite of travel ban imposed by the police. Madinah unit of ISF arranged vehicle for transportation. Zakariya Jokatte bore the air ticket and other expenses of the patient.

Dubai: In response to UAE health authorities encourage blood donation campaign Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta - U.A.E, conducted blood donation camps on April 22 at Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and on 23/04/2020 at Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah.

The Abu Dhabi camp was inaugurated by Head of Department of Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, On this occasion she gave brief inputs of the benefits and features of blood donation, urged the participants to spread greater awareness about the importance of blood donation and congratulated the AKO members for their selfless social service and wished all the best for their future endeavours.

Abdul Rasheed, President of AKO presided over the function and Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta Vice President Mr. Mohammad Nasir appreciated the effort for organizing this camp and gathering youths to be a part of this noble cause as life is precious on this earth. "Each drop of blood counts much, so kindly take it as personal compassion to help unknown who requires blood with no relatives to help him/her.

In Abu Dhabi 41 and in Sharjah 49 donors participated in this event and donated their blood. It was nice to see cheerful smiling donors doing a great community work.
Blood bank staff and AKO Organizing team enthusiastically arranged the campaign which was witnessed by many members and leaders of various community organization of Karnataka.

Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta President briefed the participates about the ongoing social work of AKO in this current COVID-19 pandemic grim situation AKO is working on following fields: AKO Members have stepped up to support needy community during the Covid-19 pandemic have gone out of their way to comfort those struggling to deal with the challenging situation.

While thousands of people continue to #StayHome, many are in quarantine, there are those on visit visa and stuck here, others have lost jobs or face salary cuts. AKO in coordination with UAE Embassy and other social organization have been able to ensure basic necessities are fulfilled with food provisions and medical assistance to needy.

Providing counselling to bachelors and families those are on quarantine and isolation.

The organizers thanked everybody especially, UAE Health Authority, Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah, Management and staff as well as donors for their time and support for the good cause.
