‘Hamsa Naada’ rocks Dubai with romantic musical extravaganza

Dubai: The rhythmic beats of ‘Hamsa Naada’ thundered Dubai while the compilation of those meaningful melodious songs presented, really rocked the audience in the jam packed Centre Point Theatre, Ductac in the Mall of the Emirates, Dubai this Friday the 9th of December, 2016 offering a real tribute to the renowned South Indian Music Composer, Instrumentalist, Lyricist & Writer, Maestro Dr. Hamsalekha in his personal presence.

He was felicitated and crowned with ‘Desi Dorey’ in the presence of the cheering audience by the organizer Shiva Kumar. The honours were done by Chief Guest Padmashree Dr. B.R. Shetty presenting the ‘Mysore Peta’, Shawl, Flower Bouquet, Memento and felicitation letter. A precious honorable rare maharaja style self-portrait was unveiled and presented as a remembrance to the music maestro. It created a history being the first show of Dr. Hamsalekha in UAE who said “this is my first honour outside my own country and I am really blessed to have this honour by my own Kannadigas here in Dubai.”

Dr. Hamsalekha who is fondly known as ‘Naada Brahma’ (the Brahma of Music) of Kannada Filmworld ‘Sandalwood’ arrived with his able team comprising of his singer wife Latha Hamsalekha, Chinmai, Manasa Holla, Acharya Mohan Kumar, Ashwini, Harshavardhan, Karthik, Benedict Sampath, Alphons Raj & Abhi along with local singers Shiva Kumar & Deepa Santosh.

It was witha professional touch, the programme opened up introducing the musicians through the live digital display on screen while their introductory live musical beats cheered up the audience while Vidya Shiva Kumar welcomed the audience with her soulful voice and briefed the highlights of the scheduled programme. She then invited the Producer/Singer husband Shiva Kumar who as traditionally invoked a devotional song composed from Dr. Hamsalekha’s film which really gave divine protection to the event.

Beginning with well-known playback singer Chinmai who gave a good start to the musical evening all the singers including Manasa Holla rendered melodious songs penned and composed by Dr. Hamsalekha one by one and the evening was exclusively dedicated to the great maestro. He later expressed his happiness on stage with the loud applause of the audience, that this is a very special programme he never expected and that too in this beautiful golden land.

He shared some lighter moments of his recent visit to the world’s wonder Burj Khalifa Tower. He added that along with all our day today entertainment, we should also devote some time towards our native, mother tongue, parents, teachers, elders and almighty which is important. As his singer wife Latha was singing wonderful melodious song he was directing the musicians live and simultaneously encouraging her too on stage.

A jugal bandi presentation of one Hindustani raag was really one rare composition enjoyed lively by the whole audience. Jameel a real fan of Dr. Hamsalekha sang ‘Yaarivalu’ in the presence of his guru on stage and rocked the stage for whom the audience also joined as chorus. Nanjappa another guest singer also sang a beautiful number along with Manasa which was very well applauded. Athira Shiva Kumar an upcoming talent also presented a very melodious number.

Another local singer Deepa Santosh along with Shiva Kumar presented a breathless number loudly cheered by the audience. It was Chinmai’s rocking song made the audience mad and the closing song ‘Huttidare Kannada Naadalli Huttabeku’ which had few onstage changes in the lyrics by the maestro, made the whole audience dance on their heels continuously and craving for more. The whole audience were enjoying every bit of the programme, cheering, clapping and whistling in their own way.

It was ‘Show Stoppers’ Team lead by Sarah Sharlet Pinto, who really added spice to the musical evening with their professional dance presentation inspired to the maestros songs with variety of props and attractive colourful costumes giving glitter and glamour to the show. Their excellent performance throughout the show, really deserves a praise worthy mention.

The Sponsors of the programme, singers, musicians, technicians, dancers and the media representatives were all honoured with flower bouquet and mementos by Dr. Hamsalekha and Dr. B.R. Shetty. Vinay Kumar Naik as director of the programme was also honoured.

On the whole ‘Hamsa Naada’ was a good treat to the music craving ears, swingingthe whole audience into a differentdivine musical world for the first time toall those Kannadigas in UAE who were lucky enough to be part of the rare ‘Hamsa Naada’ programme arranged by Shiva Kumar & his Team.

Jeddah: Indian Pilgrims Welfare Forum (IPWF) under the patronage of consulate General of India Jeddah related to welfare activities connected to Indian hajj pilgrims in particular and welfare functions of Indian community at large, organized Quran recitation competition for Indian students of age 10 to 14 residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Grand Finale was conducted Live online via Zoom virtual conference on Friday 15th May 2020 at 14:45 Hrs.

The Consul General Of India, Jeddah and Vice Patron IPWF, H.E.Mr. Md. Noor Rahman Shiekh graced the Grand Finale as honorable Chief Guest. The HOC, Consul Hajj and Director IPWF - Mr. Y Sabir attended as Guest of Honor, while the ever-exuberant President of the forum Mr. Ayyub Hakeem lead the event. A large number of Indian dignitaries and media personnel also joined this live event.

Judges panel included three experienced youths. First judge was the Prominent Hafiz and one of the best Qaris of his calibre, Hafiz Ismail Yahya Bilal, well educated in Qirat from Umm Al Qura University Makkah and currently persuing Masters. He also holds many honors and accolades from various international competitions and appreciations from Imaams of Haramain. The other judge, Hafiz Abdullah A.Mateen Usmani, first position winner, a record for being youngest Indian to win Jeddah Quran competition 2018 under patronage of Jeddah Governor.  Hafiz Farhan Abdur Rab, was the third judge, an Engineer by profession, as well as current Treasurer at IPWF.

Winners; Humeirah Masood Kazi and Furqan Mohammed Vasi Ahmed won Gold position. Maryam Jaffar and Adil Abdul Rasheed ranked Silver while Khatija Ehtesham Ali and Nadeem Noorisha ranked Bronze. Consolation prizes were given to Aamina Mustafa and Mohammed Ahsan Ali. The event was organized to encourage and boost the ambitions of young generation and inspring them to bring out their best in Quran Recitation

While speaking at the event Chief Guest H.E.Mr. Md.Noor Rahman Sheikh appreciated the social works of IPWF for Indian Community, praised the brilliant performance of students, He said it gives us great pleasure seeing that all participants, Judges and Jury members are Indians, he said the recitation of the children was fantabulous, and congratulated to the winners and participants. Chief Guest further said President Ayyub Hakeem and his IPWF Team deserves to be appreciated for their relentless efforts for this Noble cause, even in this period when the world is observing lockdown.

HOC, Consul Hajj Mr. Y Sabir appreciated IPWF team for organizing this virtual competition, he said it’s really amazing that 111 students registered to participate for the contest, he appreciated the hard work of children and efforts of parents for preparing their children.

Mr. Hakeem welcomed all and informed that this competition received overwhelming response from Indian community locally and internationally in short time since its launch was just couple of days earlier. Which compliments events Objective to encourage children “mainly Indians residing in Saudi Arabia” especially during the month of Quran “Ramadan” and lockdown period #COVID-19. 

40 contestants made it to the Semifinals, and 15 Students reached the Grand Finale, 2 young children were given consolation for their enthusiastic recitation. 

The President also appreciated his IPWF Team for unwavering support in preparation of this event.  He thanked the Chief Guest, HE Mr. Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh and Guest of Honor Mr. Y Sabir for gracing this glorious competition. He Thanked the audience and announced that all contestants will be awarded appreciation “digital certificate’

Syed Nasir Khursheed anchored the program, and entertained with beautiful Urdu couplets. Farhan Abdur Rab and Abdul Rahman Poyakkara conducted the contest flawlessly on time. Farhan, concluded the event with Vote of Thanks and soleful dua.

Dubai, Aug 7: ‘Nama Tuluve’ Purushotham Salian, a staunch stalwart who always supported humanity and a strong pillar for Tuluvas in Dubai, passed away August, 4 at Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain. He was suffering from cancer and was admitted to Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain some time ago. He was on the last stage of illness which was not detected earlier.

His funeral last rites were conducted on Thursday August 7 at Jebel Ali cemetery in Hindu rites with a few of his family members present. Due to Covid pandemic, neither his body was able to be flown back to hometown nor could his two children come down to attend the funeral. However, it was said that his wish was to be cremated here in Dubai which unknowingly sometime back he whispered to one of his friends.

Purushotham had few years ago, survived a heart attack and fought back his life, though it had a minor paralytic effect on him. Even though, till recently he used to do his day-to-day work normally. He was a hard working personality and owned a readymade garment shop in Ajman and Dubai mostly taking care of clients with requirement of uniforms and coveralls. His dedication towards work was always appreciated by his clients who used to get their things delivered on time always.

He was never a publicity person and was helping the poor and needy in whatever ways he could silently. He strongly supported the community and was associated with Nama Tuluveru and Billawa community with commitment. He used to voluntarily come forward for the ground work of various functions of the community and used to be there until it was done perfectly.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.
