Hanan Cricket to host its first GCC level tournament

Doha: Hanan Cricket Club, a vibrant Cricket team at Doha Qatar is all set to host its first GCC level soft ball cricket tournament at Qatar.

The Draw Ceremony of the “1st Hanan Premier League” was held at Grand Qatar Palace hotel-Doha on 16th September 2015. The tournament will be held at West End Park Cricket Stadium from 25th Sep to 26th Sep 2015.

The sponsors Mr. M Chidananada of M. Pallonji Qatar, Mr. Ashmathi Ali from Golden Trading and Mr. Abdulla Mono from Euro Parts were present at the diaz.

Mr. M. Ravi Shetty, President of Tulu Koota Qatar, Mr. M. Iqbal Manna, Prominent Community Activists and the host captain of Henan Cricketers Mr. Abdul Khader were also present in the diaz. Mr. Ravi Shetty addressed the gathering and congratulated the host Henan Cricketers for organizing the cricket tournament at Qatar first of its kind by invited GCC teams.

Organizing committee officials Mr. Abdul Khader, Mr. Shakeel and Mr. Nasir escorted the guested to the diaz. Later the draw ceremony for held.

Team Captains and Managers of the participating teams were present on the occasion.The 12 teams have been divided into four groups of three, with the top 8 progressing into the quarter final stage of the tournament.

M Pallonji Qatar, Kushi Super King Dubai, Tusker cricket Club Qatar, Al Falah CC Saudi Arabia, Lama Interior Concept Qatar, Al Muzain Saudi Arabia, Team Sinan Qatar, Sasp C C Saudi Arabia, Al Salah C C Saudi Arabia , Tulukoota Qatar, Friends Kuwait are The Top 12 GCC Cricket Teams will be vying for the Prestigious Trophy.

Abdul salam and Furqanexplained Rules and Regulations of tournaments and TufailMateen compered the program.

The function started with a one minute silence to express condolence to the community leader, Late PrakashChandra Ajila who passed away recently at Qatar due to sever heart attack.

Red Bull, Lipton Tea, Dallah Waters are other sponsors for the Tournaments.

The Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC), Bahrain, has charted aircrafts to repatriate stranded expatriates to India. 

Boby Parayil, General Secretary, OICC National Committee, Bahrain has thanked all those who supported in this cause.

“The aircrafts were not licensed and were in crisis until the last minute. Finally, Mohammed Mansoor, president of Bahrain chapter of Indian Overseas Congress approached IOC Middle East in charge Dr Arathi Krishna, who helped get permission to operate flight to Kozhikode,” he said in a release. 

All mandatory approvals from the Foreign Ministry of Affairs and other government officials were accomplished by Dr Arathi Krishna. OICC has expressed gratitude to her for her timely support, he said. 

OICC is also grateful to former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy for doing necessary arrangements to get all the approvals for flight landing in Kerala, he added.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.
