Hotelier stabbed to death after he catches his wife red-handed with lover

Bengaluru, Dec 6: A 45-year-old hotelier was stabbed to death allegedly by his wife and her lover in the midnight of December 2 in Tumakuru, around 70 km from here. Acting quickly, police arrested the accused, seized the weapon and the vehicle used by them to commit the crime.

R Hanumegowda of Hombaiahnapalya in Tumakuru paid with his life for catching his wife H Vidya, 29 and her lover, G Satish alias Jacki, 22, in a compromising position.

Hanumegowda had married Vidya, his aunt's granddaughter, 13 years ago and the couple had a 11-year-old son.

"When he was 13, Hanumegowda went to Mumbai in 1987. He worked as a cleaner, supplier and a cook before opening his own hotel in late 2000. He returned to Tumakuru after sustaining losses in 2013," sources said.

He then opened a dhaba near Kyatasandra, which again ran into losses. "In 2017, he went to Mumbai and joined a hotel. Vidya, who remained in Tumakuru became close to Satish, an auto driver. Her family had warned her about it," police said.

Hanumegowda returned to Tumakuru in February and invested in a relative's dhaba. "Every night, he would sleep in the dhaba. On December 2, he got a call that Satish was seen in his house at 11pm. When he rushed there, the accused stabbed him to death and fled," police said.

Mangaluru, Jun 9: Two days after he went missing under mysterious circumstances, a 33-year-old man was today found dead on the banks of Netravati river at Ullal Hoige on the outskirts of the city.

The deceased has been identified as Chethan Acharya. A missing case was registered on Tuesday morning at Ullal police station.

It is suspected that Chetan might have committed suicide due to depression. 

The missing case was later converted into the case of unnatural death. Investigations are on.

Mangaluru, Jul 23: A nurse who was serving as a frontline COVID warrior at the Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru and has recently tested positive along with her 7-year-old son has complained to the Deputy Commissioner against the harassment meted out by some miscreants who have been spreading false rumours against her.

Health official said that some people in her area have given false complaints against her to government officials thus inflicting mental torture on her and her family.

In her letter, the nurse has stated that the attitude of the people forcing her to consider quitting the job. "I have served the people by treating my work as worship. Anti-social elements have been torturing me now. I am very much hurt," the she said. 

The nurse’s house at Moodbidri has been sealed after she was tested positive. However, her husband and younger child were tested negative.

Kundapur, Apr 28: The local police have arrested two people for threatening and preventing an Associated Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers from discharging their duties during the lockdown.

Police said on Tuesday that the arrested are Sandeep Mesta and Mahesh Kharvi.

According to official sources, the health officials had put Sandeep under quarantine for 28 days.

However, he was seen wandering in the streets and ASHA worker C Laxmi warned him to stay indoors.

Irked by the warning Sandeep, along with his friend Mahesh Kharvi waylaid her and threatened to kill for objecting his movement.
