The diva who has started her journey by winning the Miss World crown in 1994 has come a long way in her career. She not only established herself in the industry with movies like Guru and Devdas but has also left a mark in Hollywood films. Most cosmetic brands like LO’real also swear by her name. She was honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri Award by the government of India. Today is her birthday, and on this special occasion we highlight a few reasons that totally set her apart from other actresses and makes her so special.

She does groundwork

The beauty queen is just not a poster girl but is involved in a lot of social activities. She was appointed as the UN Goodwill Ambassador for UNAIDS in 2012. She also pledged to donate her eyes to the Eye Bank Association of India. Besides, she is also a staunch supporter of PETA India and has also started the Aishwariya Rai Foundation to help the poor and downtrodden in the country.

She is a fit mother

The actress, now a mother of a child, might have been criticized by the media for putting on weight but she managed to get back to her gorgeous slim self. She surely took it easy and focused on her daughter Aradhya instead of watching her weight. She defended her curvy look saying that she enjoyed motherhood and was in no hurry to lose her post pregnancy weight. She silenced the critics by unveiling her new look in the Cannes Film Festival, 2014.

She follows a healthy lifestyle

While the actress has been blessed with natural beauty she follows a very healthy lifestyle. She is not very regular with her workout but she is careful about her diet. Her diet includes boiled vegetables and fruits that are not only easy to digest but also fat-free. She abstains from eating fried foods, junk, packaged food items, drinking alcohol and smoking. She makes it a point to drink at least 8 glasses of water every day to keep her skin hydrated.

She goes all natural for her beauty

Insiders suggest that despite appearing for numerous beauty products, the actress prefers natural remedies to ex-foliate her skin. A mix of besan, milk and haldi (turmeric) is her secret behind glowing skin. She uses yoghurt to moisturise her skin.

Mumbai, Jun 30: Actor Vivek Oberoi on Tuesday announced that he is set to make his debut as a producer with a high-concept thriller titled "Iti- Can You Solve Your Own Murder”.

The whodunit thriller will be directed by Vishal Mishra, who has previously helmed on films "Coffee With D” (2017) and "Hotel Milan” (2018).

"Iti" will be produced by the actor's banner Oberoi Mega Entertainment, Mandiraa Entertainment and Girish Johar. It is creatively backed by Prernaa Arora.

The 43-year-old actor said he trusts Vishal’s vision and liked the idea so much that he decided to back the project.

"I’m sure it’s going to be an exciting journey with Prernaa, team Mandiraa and Girish. We hope to present an engaging piece of cinema to the audiences with this," Vivek said in a statement.

The film revolves around a woman who is racing against time to solve her own murder. The project is expected to go on floors by October and release in the first quarter of 2021.

“I’m super excited and keen to share this story with our audiences. Vishal is a very gifted talent and we are pretty sure that with this film, we have a winner on our hands," Johar said.

Vivek's last Bollywood big-screen appearance was in 2019’s "PM Narendra Modi". He was also seen in season two of Amazon Prime Video's thriller "Inside Edge".

Mumbai, Jul 28: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan says he was left in tears as his daughter-in-law, actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan were discharged from hospital after testing negative for coronavirus.

Aishwarya and her eight-year-old daughter, who were shifted to the isolation ward of Nanavati Hospital on July 17, were discharged on Monday.

Amitabh, 77, and his actor-son Abhishek are still in hospital after they were admitted on July 11.

In a post on official blog, the Bollywood veteran said that he became emotional when Aaradhya told him that he would be "back home soon".

"They go home, the little one and Bahurani... and the tears flow out... the little one embraces and tells me not to cry... 'You’ll be home soon', she assures... I must believe her," he said.

On Monday, Abhishek had said that he and his father were still under the care of medical staff at the Nanavati Hospital's isolation ward.

"My father and I remain in hospital under the care of the medical staff. Thank you all for your continued prayers and good wishes. Indebted forever," the 44-year-old actor tweeted.

Both Amitabh and Abhishek have been sharing their health updates with fans on various social media platforms.

Last week, Amitabh had dismissed reports that he had finally tested negative for coronavirus, calling the piece of news "an incorrigible lie".

Mumbai's Covid-19 tally rose to 1,10,129 on Monday with addition of 1,033 new cases.

New Delhi, Jul 24: With more than 50 movies under her credits and being one of the few actors from Bollywood to make a strong imprint in Hollywood, actor Priyanka Chopra started it all by winning Miss India 2000 pageant.

Chopra who is currently celebrating the completion of 20 years in the entertainment industry, on Friday looked back and reacted to the video where she was crowned as Miss India.
The' Fashion' actor shared a video on Instagram, where she is seen watching the throwback video. The 'Dostana' actor recalled winning the title and joked about her sense of style and poses back then.

Sharing the reaction video, she wrote: "Alright guys, we're doing this! I'm watching footage from my Miss India pageant in 2000! This is where it all began... If you've never seen these before, you are in for quite a treat. #20in2020 @feminamissindia."

Throughout the video, the 'Gunday' actor is seen casually commenting on her hairstyle, enacting her own movement on stage, and also recalled her luscious hair, which she now wonders where it all got lost.

However, she took a moment to appreciate the "clever and profound" answer she gave for the question that won her the crown.

While watching the winning moment, the 'Don' star noted how she never expected to win it. She explained that she had a train booked as she was to go back and take her board exams.

Going through the old photographs that run parallel to the video, she says: "These pictures are hard to look at." Pausing at a particular photograph, she laughs and says, "I don't even know how to do that pose."

"Well, this is where everything started. These are the pictures that sent me to Tinseltown," said the actor towards the end of the video.
