I want to dominate globally: Priyanka Chopra

December 1, 2015

Mumbai, Dec 1: After making a mark in Bollywood, actress Priyanka Chopra is spreading her wings internationally through her music and TV show and has the intentions of dominating the global scene.th

Priyanka is managing her career both in Bollywood and Hollywood with an aplomb. Abroad she is busy with her American show "Quantico" while back home here in India she has a film - "Bajirao Mastani" up for release.

"If I have to dominate globally then I have to pay the price for it... I have to manage things. It was my choice to do things that I am doing and be responsible towards it," Priyanka said.

"It is a biggest show in the US. I am an Indian star first then an international personality," she said.

Managing both huge projects - "Quantico" and "Bajirao Mastani" simultaneously - does take a toll on Priyanka's health but she is more happy that she is doing variety of work.

"I am proud of all the work I am doing. It is exciting work that is coming out. I am physically tired. My mother says when you are young you should work very hard," she added.

The "Fashion" actress is looking forward to the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani".

Priyanka said she was the first one to be cast in Bhansali's magnum opus.

"I did the film for Sanjay sir and I have just followed him. I was the first person to be cast in this film. I was shooting for 'Mary Kom' and Sanjay sir told me about 'Bajirao Mastani' and he was clear he wanted me in it," she said.

In this epic romance, Ranveer Singh plays Peshwa Bajirao and Deepika Padukone is Mastani while Priyanka essays the role of Kashibai.

"I loved this character of Kashibai.. It is a heart breaking part. It was a challenge to do a film on a person on whom little information is available. People talk about this great love story (of Bajirao and Mastani) but what about the love of Kashibai," she said.

"Except Bajirao, there was not much reference to the characters of Mastani and Kashibai. I was depended on Sanjay sir for this film," she added.

Priyanka had previously done a special song in Bhansali's blockbuster film "Ram Leela".
"I am a big fan of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. This is my third association with him and we are in talks about many more films," she adds.

The historic saga is set to hit theatres on December 18.

Los Angeles, Jul 20: Hollywood stars Robert Downey Jr and Tom Holland have joined their "Avengers: Endgame" co-star Chris Evans in sending sweet messages to a young boy who saved his sister from a dog attack.

Six-year-old Bridger saved his four-year-old sister on July 9 by standing between her and a charging dog.

According to Nicole Noel Walker, his aunt, the child received 90 stitches after getting bitten by the canine.

After Walker reached out to the Avengers team through an Instagram post, Evans, in a video message, promised to send Bridger, an avid Avengers fan, "an authentic Captain America shield".

Now the 'Iron-Man' star promised he will gift Bridger something "special" on his next birthday.

"Bridger, you're a rockstar. I hear (Captain America) sent a shield your way. I'm gonna do one better, you call me on your next birthday. I got something special for you. By the way, that's a promise. A promise beats a shield," Downey Jr said.

Holland, meanwhile, spoke to Bridger on a video call and invited him to come to the sets of the next "Spider-Man" film.

"If you ever want to come to set and hang out, and see the Spider-Man suit up close, and hang out with us, you're always welcome. I want to say you are so brave, mate. We are all so proud of you, and your little sister is so lucky to have someone like you," he added.

Other Marvel stars Mark Ruffalo and Brie Larson, Hollywood star Anne Hathaway, "The Flash" series stars Grant Gustin and Robbie Amell also praised Bridger's bravery.

Los Angeles: Kevin Feige may have confirmed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will be getting its first transgender superhero but the Marvel Studios has said there is no definite timeline for that.

During a Q&A at the New York Film Academy, a fan had asked Feige about whether the studio plans to introduce LGBTQ characters into the MCU, "specifically the trans characters".

To this, the Marvel Studios president had replied, "Yes, absolutely, yes... And very soon. In a movie that we're shooting right now."

But sources in the company clarified to Variety that Feige only confirmed the first part of the comments that a trans character will appear in the MCU in future but he did not give a time period.

Though Feige did not reveal the name of the project that will introduce a LGBTQ character, fans speculate that he may have been referring to "The Eternals".

The film, which will feature an ensemble cast of Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kit Harington and others, is set to unveil a gay superhero in the MCU.

Marvel Studios has been making efforts to incorporate more diversity in its films after the success of "Black Panther", which featured a virtually all-black cast, and its first woman-fronted superhero movie "Captain Marvel".

"Avengers: Endgame", which became the highest grossing movie of all-time, had featured the MCU's first gay character, a cameo by director Joe Russo.

In 2020, the studio has two releases -- Scarlett Johansson-starrer "Black Widow" and "The Eternals" -- which have been helmed by women directors.

Washington D.C., Jan 16: Barbara Broccoli, who has since long been the producer of the James Bond franchise, recently clarified in an interview that the 007 character won't be played by a woman in the forthcoming rendition.

Broccoli, accompanied by her half brother and fellow producer Michael G. Wilson, told Variety: "He can be of any color, but he is male."

She went on to say: "I believe we should be creating new characters for women -- strong female characters. I'm not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that."

According to Fox News, the current Bond hero, Daniel Craig, announced last November that he would cease to play the legendary character once he is done with the upcoming 'No Time To Die' movie that is scheduled for release in coming April.

Commenting on Daniel parting ways with the franchise, Broccoli said: "I'm in total denial. I've accepted what Daniel has said, but I'm still in denial. It's too traumatic for me."

Fox News reported last July that the British Actress Lashana Lynch could possibly star in the 2020 Bond flick, but such speculations were dispelled once the trailer for the movie was brought out last December.
