New Delhi, Apr 13: While several Bollywood celebrities are trying their luck in Lok Sabha elections 2014, Bollywood’s action star Akshay Kumar revealed that he was also offered a ticket from a political party to contest in the ongoing parliamentary polls, but he denied it.
“It’s true that I was offered a ticket but I won’t name the party, ” said Akshay whose latest production venture ‘Fugly’ is all set to hit the screen on May 16.
According to sources, the actor, who is gearing up for his upcoming release ‘Holiday’, was offered a ticket from the Congress.
When asked about the reason of refusing the party ticket, Akshay said that he had no interest in politics.
However, Akshay’s father-in-law actor Rajesh Khanna contesting on Congress ticket swept the poll in 1992 Lok Sabha election from New Delhi.
It has been reported that Akshay will be seen sharing screen in ‘Housefull 3’ with Abhishek Bachchan, after nearly 12 years.
