IFF Urdu chapter conducts health awareness campaign

Mangalore, Jan 27: India Fraternity Forum Urdu Chapter conducted health awareness campaign recently in various cities of Eastern Provinces of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The objective of this health awareness campaign is to educate society on the importance of good health that builds a healthy society.

India Fraternity Forum strongly believes that it’s a social responsibility to be a healthy citizen and promote health among all hence, a simple awareness and motivation campaign of “Healthy Life Happy Life” is launched in society that may bring changes in life style of many individual to live a healthy life.

As a part of the campaign a health awareness program conducted recently at Safa Medical Center, Dammam. The chief guest Dr. Sikander Ali an ENT Specialist from Al Dukhair Clinic, Dammam spoke to audience on the subject of Allergy and other health related matters.

The program at Safa Medical Center was started with Quran recitation by Luqman Moulavi ,  Sohrab Ahmed, In charge - Community Welfare Department welcomed the guests and introduced about the India Fraternity Forum (IFF) and it’s social activities.

Mohammed Amir Qasmi quoted references from Quran on importance of health from Islamic perspective, responsibility to maintain good health and   stressed on importance of healthy our daily life.

Anwar Saleem   (IFF, Tamil Nadu Chapter) graced the occasion with short speech. Nazrul Islam Chaudry (President IFF, Urdu Chapter, and Eastern Province) concluded the program highlighting concerning on physical, Spiritual and Mental health of an individual there by leading to a Healthy, prosperous and developed nation. Mr. Khaja Moinuddin delivered vote of thanks.

The chief guest Dr. Sikander Ali made power point presentation on allergies, types of allergies, causes and cures. He explained the harm caused by allergies to our body which leads to complications if not handled properly. He also explained the precautions to be taken which will help us to get rid of these allergies. This was followed by Question and Answer session in which public actively participated and interacted with the doctor.

India Fraternity Forum Urdu Chapter scheduled a series of programs during health awareness campaign that include visit among labor camps and accommodation to educate on importance of health and cleanliness through pamphlets, presentation on laptops or projector screens.

Dr Soofi Anwar, Director Academics of University of Stirling RAK, UAE Campus, has achieved the prestigious professional recognition of Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) UK. He has achieved this milestone through the Stirling Framework for Evidencing Learning and Teaching Enhancement (SFELTE), the Continuing Professional Development Framework (CPD) for learning and teaching at University of Stirling, Scotland, UK. 

He was recognized for this achievement on recently concluded virtual Learning & Teaching Conference-2020 organized by University of Stirling Campus in UK.  He has secured his Ph.D. in Management from University of Azteca, Mexico.

Dr. Soofi Anwar has over 20 years of experience in teaching and academic leadership at higher education level and has worked in leading universities in UAE, Bahrain and India. He was conferred the prestigious Middle East Education Leadership Award, as the Best Professor in Management-2018 in recognition of his academic excellence, exemplary leadership in higher education. Prior to his current role, he has worked on leadership position in Birla Institute of Technology Offshore Campus RAK.

He has completed his MBA from Dept. of Business Administration, Mangalore University in 1999 and his B. Com degree from Canara College Mangaluru.

He has published numerous research papers in management and in the area of teaching and learning in higher education in reputed academic journals and international conferences proceedings. He is a member of editorial board of two leading management journals and engaged in reviewing faculty research publications in the area of management and marketing. 

He is a son of Haji Abdul Khadar Kodijal and Mrs. Mariyamma from Konaje, Mangaluru.

Dubai: Karnataka Sports & Cultural Club (KSCC) distributed Eid Kit across the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah to the ) needy people on Eid al Fitr.

KSCC President Mr. Mohammed Ismail Said: “Eid is a Symbol of Gratitude and Unity. As the last few weeks have been hard for each one of us, we wanted to stand in solidarity to celebrate Eid, by helping labours and needy people. He also said that “We are together to be part of UAE. Serving these meals is our core social responsibility."

KSCC recently conducted humanitarian services during COVID-19 pandemic in 2 phases and conducted Blood Donation Drive. They have also planned to conduct next Blood Donation Drive on 25th May, 2020.

The KSCC main objective is to develop the expatriate community into a well-nourished section of society in the areas of social, sports and cultural activities.

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.
