IFF’s Sanchalana brings NRI families together at Marafiq Beach Camp

Jubail, May 28: India Fraternity Forum, Eastern Province, organized ‘sanchalana’, a family gathering at Marafiq Beach Camp, Jubail in a unique style. This event was mainly organized for raising funds for socio-economic and educational development of the deprived in India.

Sayed Haamid, Principal, Indian International School, Jubail, Abdul Wahid, Executive Committee Member, Rehab India Foundation, Waseem, Central Committee President - Indian Social Forum, Sharief, Karnataka State Committee President - Indian Social Forum, Salam Master, IFF Regional Coordinator, Mohammad Ashraf, President, IFF Karnataka Chapter, Mohammed Iqbal Secretary, IFF Karnataka Chapter were present on the dais. Mohammed Ashraf briefed the objectives of the IFF and welcomed the gathering and guests on the dais.

Marafiq Beach Camp was jam packed in the evening on May 22 and thousands of people including ladies participated and enjoyed the event. In fact delegates and well wishers opined that history created in Marafiq Beach Camp with such a huge crowd which was never seen earlier.

The event inauguration was held at 7: 30 pm followed by IFF Gallery inauguration at 7.45pm. After Isha prayer the games for gents and kids started which lasted at 10:30 pm. Games for gents included volley ball, tug of war and blind walk. Games for kids included lemon spoon, biscuit game, frog race, tunnel game and ball in the basket.

Ladies had indoor activities like games, quiz and a class in a separate enclosure. Games for ladies section included idli sambar, dog and the bone, city name, banana game, balloon blasting. There was quiz for ladies and also a class by Miss Afnan at the end of the event.

Cultural programmes were held in which there were songs and skits by IFF members with some meaningful message for the audience. After cultural programme, Abdul Wahid gave presentation about Indian Muslims and works done by Rehab India Foundation.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.

Riyadh: Cricket Lovers are all geared up for the newly launched franchise based tournament - Kingdom Premier League (KPL) 2020 under the banner of Mangaluru Cricket Association (MCA) Riyadh.

SAQCO –SAAD AL QAHTANI CONTRACTING is the Mega Sponsor for the event and PARAMOUNT is the CO Sponsor.

The 6-team tournament is being played at MCA Grounds on Exit 18 in Riyadh beginning from 14 Feb and shall end on 20 March.

The Opening ceremony took place on AL-Mas Restaurant in Riyadh. The trophy launching as well as Jersey launching took place at the same event. Guests from various companies including SAQCO were present.

All teams will play at least one league Match against every other team. Top 4 teams in the table will qualify to play for the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator.
