Indian Social Forum celebrates I-Day across Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Karnataka State Committee, organized Independence Day Celebration Programs across Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia as part of celebrating 69th Independence Day of India. Indian Social Forum arranged a platform for Non-Resident Indians to celebrate the Independence Day through cultural events, sports, skits and stage shows with great enthusiasm.

There was a public program in Rose Auditorium of Dammam on 15th of August 2015under Udupi district of Indian Social Forum, Karnataka. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Fayaz, General Secretary of Central Committee said, “Being an Indian we should always uphold the sovereignty of the country. We should not keep this day only for a mere celebration, butalso we should struggleto save our pre-eminent democratic system of India. There is an alarming damage on democratic system taking place in India through some ideologies. Now it is our responsibility to save our country’s secular heritage”.

The chief guests Narendra Shetty, President of Mangalore Association, Anwar Sadath, Vice President of Hidayah Foundation, Abdullah Kutyady, Regional President of India Fraternity Forum, presented heart full greetings on this occasion. On the same occasion prizes distributed to the winners of the Cricket Tournament which is held earlier to the Independence Day celebrations on 14th of August. Eastern Blue Cricketers Khobar was emerged as the Champions and Star Cricketers Krishnapura was runners up of the trournament. Sarfraz of Eastern Blue Cricketers Khobar was emerged as both Man of the Match and Man of the Series.

Indian Social Forum Udupi district president Salim Udupi gave a short preface on the occasion and Nazrullah Khan welcomed the gathering. Rauf and Khalid Bantwalcoordinated the program. Vice president Abdul Rahman gave vote of thanks. There was patriotic songs from children and quiz for the audience were arranged.

Al Khobar: There was a public program also organized in Afsara Auditorium of Khobar on 15th of August 2015, under D.K. district of Indian Social Forum. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. A.M. Arif, General Secretary of Indian Social Forum State Committee said, “Over past 68 years our department system has completely failed to establish the social justice. In such a case it is our duty to protest against such system and also to fight for the rights of people”.

Imran Karkala, Vice President of JamiyyathulFalah, Dammam, Bande Nawaz of Bijapurians Association, Siraj of Malnad Association and Ahmad Basheer of India Fraternity Forum, Khobar were among the guests present on the dais.

Indian Social Forum D.K. district president SiddiqNandarabettu gave a short preface and welcomed the gathering. Mohammad Nisaafcoordinated the program. RafiqUchila gave vote of thanks. As part of the program Social Forum members demonstrated the skit which made a sensation of patriotism and unity among the audience. There was quiz and other fun activities for the audience and prizes also distributed on the occasion.

Indian Social Forum also arranged sports events in Jubail and Hasa. Sweets and dinner was served among the audience who were participated in the celebration.

Kuwait: Friday Forum Kuwait conducted its 12th inter-school Islamic Elocution Competition at Hotel Rajadhani Palace, Khaitan on 1st January 2020. 

The competition, which was held in the senior and junior categories had participation from 15 Indian Schools across Kuwait comprising of 43 students. In the senior category, Ayisha Wafiya of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Efrem Joseph of Indian Community School, Amman won the second prize. 

In the junior category, Hima Jameela of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Fadhel Kandapath of Fahaheel Al Wataniya Indian School won the second prize. Nawaal Yaseen Ebrahim of Indian Community School (SR), Salmiya and Rhruthunanda of Indian Learners Own Academy, Abbasiya won the consolation prizes in senior and junior categories respectively.

This year, the event was fully conducted by the ladies wing of Friday Forum. Dr. Thasneem Amir, Ibtisam Basheer, Toast Masters Ola Rasheed, Fatma Abduhedeid, Shazia Thabassum and Marium Rangat were the judges for the competition in senior and junior categories. The event started with the Qira’at by Saneera Riyas, followed by welcome speech by Dr. Sajna Mohammed. 

The prizes were distributed to winners by Shahina Mansoor, Femitha Faseeh, Dr.Thasneem Amir, Dr. Sajna Mohammed, Zeenath Yacoub, Safna Sayam and Saneera Riyas. The Souvenir for the program - “INSPERIA 2020”- was released during the event by the chief editor Farha Abdul Rahman. The program was compered by Thanveera Noushad and the program convenor Subeana Shabeer conveyed the vote of thanks.

Doha: Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF) once again set an example that no caste, creed, language and religion comes as hurdle for their humanitarian services and helped to perform last rites of Ramesh who committed suicide in Doha-Qatar.

45-year-old Ramesh son of K. Nagan hailing from Panikulam, Thrissur district in Kerala, who was working as a tailor committed suicide in his house at Ruwias in Qatar on 30th May 2020.

On hearing this news, some of his friends in Kearla informed Mr. Shihab who is also from Thrissur and a member of QISF and the same was brought to the notice of QISF humanitarian team head Mr. Abdul Latheef Madikeri and Basheer Ahmed of Tamil Nadu.

Immediately, the QISF team intervened and contacted the family members of the deceased in India and discussed the matter and consequences of sending the body back home to India in this pandemic COVID 19 situation.

Considering the prevailing situation, the family members gave the consent to bury the body in Qatar itself.

QISF team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation.

Finally, the body of the deceased was buried in Qatar on 7th June 2020 and the copies of all the relevant documents have been handed over to the family members.

The family members of the deceased thanked and applauded the leaders and all the members of QISF for their effective and on time humanitarian service rendered even in this pandemic crisis and having no bias.

Dubai: Karnataka Sports & Cultural Club (KSCC) distributed Eid Kit across the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah to the ) needy people on Eid al Fitr.

KSCC President Mr. Mohammed Ismail Said: “Eid is a Symbol of Gratitude and Unity. As the last few weeks have been hard for each one of us, we wanted to stand in solidarity to celebrate Eid, by helping labours and needy people. He also said that “We are together to be part of UAE. Serving these meals is our core social responsibility."

KSCC recently conducted humanitarian services during COVID-19 pandemic in 2 phases and conducted Blood Donation Drive. They have also planned to conduct next Blood Donation Drive on 25th May, 2020.

The KSCC main objective is to develop the expatriate community into a well-nourished section of society in the areas of social, sports and cultural activities.
