Indian Social Forum holds introduction programme in Dammam

Dammam: Indian Social Forum(ISF), Eastern Province, Karnataka State ad-hoc Committee’s introduction programme was held in Rose restaurant, Dammam.

Earlier in Jeddah, A Saeed, National President of Social Democratic Party of India(SDPI), dedicated the social welfare organization, Indian Social Forum(ISF) to the service of the entire Indian expatriate community. Mr. Saeed told that SDPI has a “Pravasi Forum” in India for the welfare of the returning NRIs.

Some members from different districts of Karnataka received nominal membership card in this function and fourbranch adhoc committees of Eastern Province Dammam, Al-Khobar, Jubail and Al-Hassawere declared.

Mohammed Shareef Dammam,Secretary.Indian Social Forum ad-hoc Central committee presided and M.Shareef Al-Khobar, President,Indian Social Forum ad hoc State committee, delivered introductory speech. Mr. Tajuddin, President, Jubail Branch, welcomed the guests and the gathering. Saleem GK, General Secretary, Indian Social Forum ad-hoc State committee briefed the activities of Indian Social Forum (ISF).

Accepting the invitation by Indian Social Forum, representatives of various socio-cultural organisations from Dammam and Khobar participated in the programme. Anwar Shimoga conveyed the vote of thanks. Ashraf from Jubail cordinated the function.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

Dubai, Aug 6: Non-resident Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist Dewakara Alva passed away on Thursday August 6. He was 63.

Alva, who hailed from Mangaluru, was the director of Federal Insurance Brokers LLC, Dubai and was residing in Dubai for around four decades. He was reportedly suffering from health problems for last few months. 

He was a patron of Tulu and Kannada language and culture in United Arab Emirates. He was a member of various NRI organizations including UAE Tulu Koota and UAE Bunts

Alva is survived by wife Saritha, daughter Powshali, and son Manal.

Dubai: Karnataka Sports & Cultural Club (KSCC) distributed Eid Kit across the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah to the ) needy people on Eid al Fitr.

KSCC President Mr. Mohammed Ismail Said: “Eid is a Symbol of Gratitude and Unity. As the last few weeks have been hard for each one of us, we wanted to stand in solidarity to celebrate Eid, by helping labours and needy people. He also said that “We are together to be part of UAE. Serving these meals is our core social responsibility."

KSCC recently conducted humanitarian services during COVID-19 pandemic in 2 phases and conducted Blood Donation Drive. They have also planned to conduct next Blood Donation Drive on 25th May, 2020.

The KSCC main objective is to develop the expatriate community into a well-nourished section of society in the areas of social, sports and cultural activities.
