Bengaluru, Dec 27: In a bizarre demand, Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj has urged the union government to install the statue of Sandalwood actor late Dr Rajkumar in the premises of parliament and bestow upon him the 'Bharat Ratna' award posthumously.

Addressing a press conference here today, the Kannada chaluvali paksha chief said that several years after his demise, Dr Rajkumar continues to be a role model for crores with his simplicity and politeness.

"He has been felicitated with many awards for his service in the film field. He has also been felicitated with Dada Saheb Phalke award, which is the biggest honour for a film fraternity. The only honour that is left over in the country and the much desirable award for Rajkumar is 'Bharat Ratna'. So I request President, Prime Minister and our state leaders to take this initiation," he said.

Vatal was accompanied with Sa Ra Govindu, president of Dr Rajkumar fans association and former Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce(KFCC) president and other Kannada activists.

"I was constantly fighting against the injustice that was happening to Kannada and Dr Rajkumar films in front of other language films. In this way I was closely associated with Dr Rajkumar more than 50 years," he added.

I'm not against any celebrities.

What is the contribution of Mr. Rajkumaar to the society. Not only Raj but many film actors.

Acting is their profession, and they played and they got the remuneration in millions too.

but did they paid or contributed any penny to the society??

Bengaluru, July 13: The Karnataka government today announced the cancellation of I PUC supplementary examinations across the state.

Primary and Secondary Education minister S Suresh Kumar announced that the government took the decision in the wake of rising cases of Covid-19 and re-introduction of the lockdown. According to sources in the education department, as many as 60,000 students were supposed to appear for the examination.

Previously, the state government had decided to hold these exams at the college level in every district and publish the results by 30 July. However, the government has withdrawn even that arrangement and completely cancelled the exams.

According to the minister, all the students who failed in the I PUC examination, shall also be promoted to II PUC. "The students who have attended all the subjects but unable to pass the exams will also be promoted to the next class," Suresh Kumar said.

However, those who missed out on the exams due to health reasons or failed in the examinations will be given a small test at the time of commencing classes for II PUC to assess their learning ability at the college level, according to the minister. "Only those students who missed out on the examination due to shortage of attendance will not be promoted to the next class," Suresh Kumar clarified.

New Delhi, Mar 2: The bloodthirsty arsonists allegedly hired by pro-CAA politicians in the capital of India to target Muslims, did not spare even the house of a Muslim leader of BJP.

Akhtar Raza, the BJP’s minority cell vice-president for the Delhi Northeast district, is now not in a position to share his pain with anyone.

Even the police hadn’t come to his rescue, when the mob raising “Jai Sri Ram” slogans burnt down his house at Bhagirathi Vihar Nalla Road in northeast Delhi last week.

“They were chanting slogans. Around 7pm, they started throwing stones at us. I called for police help. But the police asked me to leave. We managed to flee before they burnt my house and destroyed everything,” Raza, who returned today to witness the destruction, told media persons.

“Those who attacked us were not locals. They were outsiders. They managed to identify and burn down all the 19 houses belonging to Muslims in this lane,” Raza said.

Apart from all the belongings in the house of Raza, the arsonists also have burnt down six vehicles belonging to his family.

Raza is sad that no one from BJP contacted him after the violence even though he has been serving the party and promoting its ideology for past five years. “No party leader contacted me. There was no phone call. There was no relief or special treatment or anything,” Raza said.

Interestingly, Raza is still indentifies himself as a BJP leader. “I belonged to BJP. I may continue in the party,” he said.

The locality remained tense on Sunday too. On Monday, several groups distributed relief materials among people who had queued up to collect them. In front of Raza’s house is a lane from which several bodies of innocent Muslims have been recovered.
