Shodhan Prasad of Sandhya Creations Overseas Movies Distribution welcomed the audience and gave a brief of the programme.  He then introduced MC Arathi Adiga a multi-talented Kannadiga who took over the programme with her fluent Kannada poetically explaining the title of the film.

Arathi then introduced Producer Ashwin J. Pereira.  Ashwin a youth leader had started off with his political career at a tender age of 18.  He later started his venture with Elevator business and then into real estate where he succeeded with completion of 6 projects and 2 more projects nearing completion.  Further his affordable housing project titled ‘Mother Theresa Housing Society’ is another dream venture which is a different concept in real estate.  Melissa D’Souza is his wife who has always supported him in his other business including Furniture trading is also the Co-Producer of the Movie.

Later was the traditional lighting of the lamp by all the guests.  Ashwin welcomed all the invitees with rose flower which he has carried all the way from Mangalore and presented them personally to the audience stating that by this way he can get introduced to all Kannadigas in Dubai for whom he is totally new.  It was a different kind of gesture and audience welcomed this with a smile.

Finally was the much awaited ‘Trailer Release’ of the movie ‘Asathoma Sadgamaya’ but before that MC Arathi explained the making of the movie and the important message hidden in the movie which was ‘IQ verses EQ’.  It’s all about the family relationships and emotions when education system in India is concerned; and also connecting the current trend in the educational institutions especially those Government Schools which are fading away. The ‘taken for granted’ attitude by our own people has sidelined these institutions in front of English medium Institutions which are boasted to be the best.  The film is being directed by Rajesh Venoor whose maiden directorial venture is ‘Asathoma Sadgamaya’.  The star cast include lead actress Radhika Chetan, Rangeetaranga fame who has for her credit ten movies in Kannada and the lead actor Kiran Raj who also has acted in another Kannada film released recently.  Lasya Nagaraj & Baby Chitrali along with Pradeep Barboza & Deepak Paladka are in the lead roles.  Wahab Saleem is the Music Director and Vijaya Prakash & Anuradha Bhat along with other singers have rendered their melodious voice in this film.  Nelson Kulshekar & Vikram are the Executive Producers of the move.  Cinematography by Kishore & background score is by Manikant Kadri.  With the blessings of our Ex-Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, ‘Asathoma Sadgamaya’ is predicted to be a hit Kannada movie of 2018.

Guest Praveen Shetty clicked the tab button and marked open the trailer release.  All the invitees saw the beautifully designed trailer especially arranged for overseas release and appreciated with a loud round of applause.

Speaking on the occasion, Praveen Shetty said ‘a person from Christian Community whose language is Konkani has come forward in producing a Kannada movie is a very rare scenario and hence we Kannadigas should whole heartedly come forward and support him in his venture so that more and more people come forward in producing Kannada films.  Mentioning that all the previous events which were inaugurated in Fortune Plaza Banquet Hall, historically were blessed with success, he said that this venture will also be a successful one for sure.  While wishing him all success not only in this movie venture he also wished him all the best for his political career as an elected candidate of the Legislative Council in Karnataka State.  Dev Kumar Kambli later spoke and in his speech he shared some of the lighter moments of yesteryear wherein he remembered some memorable moments of his school days in government school he studied which relates to the village where Ashwin belongs to and which is part of the story Ashwin produced in his movie. Followed was Valerian Dalmeida , Aruna Muthugadur, Joseph Mathias & Alwyn Pinto who spoke one by one wishing Ashwin all the best for his new venture.  Everyone hoped and wished that this movie will create a history for itself with the beautiful message in it.  Valerian further mentioned on the English Magazine they have produced from their Media point of view which is being distributed to all those Kannada Medium schools students in Karnataka which they hope can improve the English language proficiency in those students.

Finally Producer Ashwin Pereira spoke with his spontaneous speech filled with humour touch well applauded by the whole audience.  He shared some of his past experience back in Moodabidri where he belongs to especially about his education tenure where and how he completed his technical qualification which has some connections to the story of the movie he has now produced.  This inspired him to produce the movie and is happy that he is presenting a movie which has a beautiful message for the audience which is relevant in the current situation.  He said that obviously he has produced this movie to make money not for himself but if it does it will provoke him to produce more movies in the future which will ultimately give entertain for all our Kannadigas. However I do not have any over ambition monetarily but only looking to cover the expenses I have invested in the making of this movie so that I can reinvest the same in future movies as an entertainment package for the people, he added.  He said that most of the seniors gathered here have surely studied in the Kannada Medium schools and have been successful in their ventures.  However now in the past 2 years recently around 1300 schools of Kannada Medium has been closed for various reasons undebated.  I do not want to debate on it and would only speak of the message in my movie, he added.  The current situation is mark oriented education and there is no importance to relationship and emotions. Because of this we are losing our relationships and are only focusing towards excelling in our academic, leaving behind the true emotion and family importance which is important, he added.  This lacking gap in the current family emotions has prompted him to be part of ‘Asathoma Sadgamaya’ Kannada Movie in an aim to attempt to bring changes in the thinking of society, which he feels is the most important in this situation. Finally he disclosed that his next project will be in Tulu this year and requested all the audience to support him so that he can make many more educative and message oriented movies in the future which will showcase and highlight the problems of our society to the limelight.

Concluding Shodhan Prasad delivered the vote of thanks and the audience savored the sumptuous buffet dinner with cocktail drinks while the music band ‘Versatiles’ entertained the audience with their soulful music throughout.

Kuwait: The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed the whole world into a difficult situation and the situation of Indians in Kuwait is not any different. Many people have lost their jobs, have no salary, are deprived of food and are not able to pay rent. The appalling conditions of labourers, domestic workers, taxi drivers and low waged earners don’t seem to end in Kuwait.

At this trying situation when many people were even afraid of leaving their houses because of coronavirus, Suresh S. Rao Neramballi, volunteer of the Food Kit Distribution at the ICSG (Indian Community Support Group) has helped many tremendously. He was ready to go around delivering food kits at any time possible by his car. However, after Kuwait imposed a full curfew from 11th May 2020, no one could take out their vehicles unless they had a curfew pass.

This did not stop Mr. Suresh Neramballi, who then borrowed a bicycle from a friend and ended up going around in the cycle delivering the food kits in curfew break time (4:30pm to 6:30pm) to all those who registered in the ICSG website. This selfless service surely commands appreciation and applause. Mr. Suresh Neramballi has been a light for many families and bachelors in Kuwait and will surely garner the blessings of them who have been able to eat at this time.

He was also the one who could deliver the food kits to many Indian Muslim maids, bachelors, laborers and families previous day and right on the day of EID, as they were not able to go shopping for their groceries for EID, due to the curfew. They blessed him in EID dua.

Mr. Suresh Neramballi hails from Mangaluru, India and is an Engineer in the Oil sector company in Kuwait. He has been dedicated to social service, achieved 'Aryabhata International Award' for his Kannada Service and Social service, served in many Associations and Distributor of Kannada and Tulu Movies in Kuwait. He wholeheartedly thanks the people and government of Kuwait for his bread and butter.
