ISF Cricket Trophy: New Royal King Farwaniya emerge champions

Kuwait City: The New Royal King Farwaniya won the championship trophy at the ISF Trophy Cricket Tournament organized by The Indian Social Forum (ISF), Kuwait on Friday, 5th January 2018 at Sharq Grounds.

The day long tournament was formally inaugurated by Karnataka junior javelin champion Mr. Mohammad Ashraf at 7:00AM. The event concluded at 5:00PM. 16 teams took part in the tournament that was worked off on a knock-out basis. 

The final match was reduced to 4 overs due to fading light in which The New Royal Kings Farwaniya defeated UKCC by 6 Runs. The New Royal Kings Farwaniya won the toss & elected to Bat 1st. They scored 26 runs in 4 overs. The UKCC failed to sustain the pressure and wilted under it as they lost 2 important wickets in the beginning. Their reply culminated at 20 runs.  

Team New Royal King Farwaniya emerged as the winners of the Maiden ISF trophy and the Team UKCC (United Kuwait Cricket Club) took home runner up trophy. 

Mr. Abdul Razak, Manager, BADR-Al-Samaa Medical Center and Mr. Mustafa, ISF Kerala Chapter President presented Winner and runner up Trophies. Man of the match was won by Farooq of Team Royal King Farwaniya. The award was presented by Mr. Amith Furtado. 

Man of the series was won by Arif of Team UKCC for the overall best performance. Ranjith of Team Royal king Farwaniya was declared as The Best Batsman of the tournament. Best bowler award went to Sathish of Team Royal king Farwaniya. Awards were presented to these individuals by Mr. Amith, Mr.Adil and Mr. Sharan respectively

The Tournament was sponsored by Middle East World Co W.L.L and Co-Sponsored by BADR AL- SAMAA Medical Center, Mr. Alex Dsouza (Cricket Enthusiastic), Mr. Amit Furtado (Owner of Friends Kuwait Cricket Team) and MR. Waseem (Owner of UKCC cricket team)

Kuwait: Friday Forum Kuwait conducted its 12th inter-school Islamic Elocution Competition at Hotel Rajadhani Palace, Khaitan on 1st January 2020. 

The competition, which was held in the senior and junior categories had participation from 15 Indian Schools across Kuwait comprising of 43 students. In the senior category, Ayisha Wafiya of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Efrem Joseph of Indian Community School, Amman won the second prize. 

In the junior category, Hima Jameela of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Fadhel Kandapath of Fahaheel Al Wataniya Indian School won the second prize. Nawaal Yaseen Ebrahim of Indian Community School (SR), Salmiya and Rhruthunanda of Indian Learners Own Academy, Abbasiya won the consolation prizes in senior and junior categories respectively.

This year, the event was fully conducted by the ladies wing of Friday Forum. Dr. Thasneem Amir, Ibtisam Basheer, Toast Masters Ola Rasheed, Fatma Abduhedeid, Shazia Thabassum and Marium Rangat were the judges for the competition in senior and junior categories. The event started with the Qira’at by Saneera Riyas, followed by welcome speech by Dr. Sajna Mohammed. 

The prizes were distributed to winners by Shahina Mansoor, Femitha Faseeh, Dr.Thasneem Amir, Dr. Sajna Mohammed, Zeenath Yacoub, Safna Sayam and Saneera Riyas. The Souvenir for the program - “INSPERIA 2020”- was released during the event by the chief editor Farha Abdul Rahman. The program was compered by Thanveera Noushad and the program convenor Subeana Shabeer conveyed the vote of thanks.

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.
