Jai_HoMumbai, Feb 15: Buzz has it that Salman is showing keen interest in the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament these days. The actor’s love for cricket is wellknown and if certain reports are to be believed then the Dabangg superstar is planning to buy an IPL team. Seems like the Bollywood superstar is following his arch rival Shahrukh Khan, the owner of Kolkata Knight Rider’s footsteps, when it comes to investing his money for a franchise. The actor seems to be in a mood for competition and would soon be joining his counterparts in the industry Preity, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh.

Salman had a discussion with Ness

The King of the box-office has expressed an interest in owning a franchise and may sometime soon end up owning a stake.

A source close to the industry has admitted recently that Salman had a deep discussion with the IPL team , owner Ness Wadia . Wadia group scion along with his former girlfriend and actress Preity Zinta owns the team Kings XI Punjab. It is learnt that their conversation all started when the actor had flagged off the Little Hearts Marathon organized by BJ Wadia hospital for underprivileged children. The 48-old actor had enquired about IPL from Ness post the flag off.

This is not the first time Salman had a long length of discussion on this matter; however he had enquired about it on several occasions with his other friends too.

Salman may own IPL any time soon

While there is no clear indication that the actor would soon own a stake it does seems like he is eagerly showing an interest in the tournament owning to his love for the game. Apart from Salman his family also shares the same kind of passion. Not only that, even his brother Sohail Khan is a part of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) and is also the captain of the Mumbai Heroes team.

“Salman was the chief guest at this marathon that was organised by BJ Wadia hospital for underprivileged children. Post the flag off, Salman was seen talking to Ness. The two were discussing the IPL in great detail,” said a source.

“There is no clear indication that he will pick up a stake in an IPL team his interest in it has only grown with time. He has been making enquiries with Ness. In fact, he has also been asking his other friends about the same. The actor is trying to work out how he can get a piece of the IPL pie as he loves cricket and has a lot of cricketer friends,” further added the source.
