Jeddah: Alumni of KBN College of Engineering hold AGM, felicitate their chief patron

Jeddah: The Jeddah chapter of the Khaja Banda Nawaz College of Engineering (KBNCE) Gulbarga Alumni recently organized its Annual General Meet at a restaurant in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  On the same occasion the alumni felicitated their chief patron Dr Syed Shah Gesudaraz Khusro Hussaini, President, Khaja Education Society upon receiving prestigious Rajyotsava award by government of Karnataka. Live technical presentations were presented by Eng. Amjad Ali and Eng. Saleh bin Ali Munassar respectively.

Dr. Syed Shah Gesudaraz Khusro Hussaini attended the event as chief guest, guest of honor was Mr. Syed Abdul Aziz senior editor Arab News while event was presided over by Alumni President Eng. Syed Nasir Khursheed.

Role of Master of ceremony was interestingly done by Eng. Syed Mohiuddin Ahmed General Secretary of Alumni.

Program started with recitation of Holy Quran by Syed Mohamaid Ali Soofi.  Alumni treasurer Eng. Abubakr bin Hussain officially welcome the distinguished guests     and recalled unforgettable moments and cherished memories of the college days in his welcome speech.

While addressing to the audience Chief Guest Dr. Khusro appreciated the activities carried out by the Alumni Jeddah chapter and interestingly elaborated the concept, types and role of Alumni. He highlighted the difference of Alumni, Alumnus, and Alumna& Alumnae in his talk.

Audience applauded when he briefed about the future development and action plans of KBN University and also informed shortly Law College will be added among other 24 different institutions, he said I feel proud as about more than 15,000 students have achieved engineering degrees from KBN college of Engineering and successful in their careers in are successful professionals spread across all the continents.

In a presidential speech Eng. Syed Nasir Khursheed thanked Chief Patron Dr. Khusro and Patron Dr. Ruksar Fatima vice principal KBNCE for giving opportunity to form Alumni in Jeddah, he said we have plans to start chapters in different cities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He said objectives of conducting these events is to get connected with all the general members of the Alumni to remind them the social responsibilities and get benefited by the technical presentations. He advised members to utilize Alumni platform by sharing their knowledge with others, he gave credit for success of the Alumni to the vibrant executive committee.

Event sponsor and Managing Director of Universal Inspection Company (UIC) Mr. Abdul Majeed  Bathrudeen delivered the presentation about his company activities, standards and development.  He informed that UIC has expanded their branches in various parts of  GCC, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman at present.

In second part of his speech emphasized Muslim Community to participate in the UPSC Examinations at least a single member from each family. Also  expressed the importance and benefits of Fajar Prayer as most of our Muslim families are  missing the blessings & rewards of Allah for this world and hereafter.

Alumni executive member Eng. Mohammed Aejazuddin delivered the presentation about the alumni, organization structure, aims, objectives, activities. He also highlighted the achievements of the alumni, which was done by holding technical seminars, professional enhancement and development courses and career guidance support to the fresh graduated young talent alumnus.

Eng. Saleh bin Ali Munassar during his technical presentation on “Engineers and Soft skills” explained benefits of adopting soft skills for the personal growth and enhancement of the career.  He explained practical scenarios of engineering practice with and without soft skills.  He emphasized the benefits of integrating engineering hard skills with the soft skills and business management skills to develop professional career as engineering leaders and entrepreneurs.

Eng. Amjad Ali delivered technical presentation on “QA/QC”Emphasized on management techniques to define, measure, analyze, design and verify the products to deliver a zero defects products to the consumers.

Dr. Ruksar Fatima Patron KBNCE Alumni and Vice principal of KBN college of Engineering sent her message and it was read by Eng. Mohammed Imdad Ali Joint Secretary, conveyed her heartiest greetings and gratitude to alumni about KBN university getting sanctioned by Karnataka government.  She also briefed about KBNCE College developments and encouraged the diaspora of KBNCE to take part in the development of college by referring students and thanks to all participants.

Memento as a token of appreciation was presented to the chief guest Dr. Khusro Hussaini with standing ovation.

Alumni felicitated Dr. Syed Naimatullah Husaini Vice president of Alumni for achieving Doctorate in the field of computer science, and also felicitated to alumni entrepreneurs Eng. Afsar Ustad, Eng. Mohammed Jaleel Ahmed, Eng. Syed Ahmed Ali Soofi and Eng. Mohammad Abdur Rab Hamedfor their achievements in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

All the executive committee members comprising of Eng.Syed Mohiuddin Ahmed,Eng. Saleh bin Ali, Eng. Amjad Ali, Eng. Mohammed Yahiya, Eng. Mohammed Imdad Ali, Eng. Abubakr bin Hussain, Eng. Mohammed Tabrez Hussain Hundrug, Eng. Syed Qutbuddinand Eng. Mohammed Abdul Ameed received mementoes as a token of appreciation for their services to the Alumni by Chief Guest.

Speakers were introduced by Eng. Syed Ahmed Ali Soofi, Eng.Mohammed Tabrez Hussain Hundrug and Eng.Syed Khutbuddin.

Program concluded with the vote of thanks by Eng. Mohammed Yahiya Chief Coordinator, He expressed his deep gratitude for Chief Guest Dr Khusro Hussaini, Guest of honor Syed Abdul Aziz and all the guests. He thanked presenters and other speakers for the quality of the presentation and the knowledge delivered. He praised the efforts of the team to organize such a professional event. The meeting was concluded with gala dinner and group photographs.

Dubai: In response to UAE health authorities encourage blood donation campaign Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta - U.A.E, conducted blood donation camps on April 22 at Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and on 23/04/2020 at Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah.

The Abu Dhabi camp was inaugurated by Head of Department of Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, On this occasion she gave brief inputs of the benefits and features of blood donation, urged the participants to spread greater awareness about the importance of blood donation and congratulated the AKO members for their selfless social service and wished all the best for their future endeavours.

Abdul Rasheed, President of AKO presided over the function and Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta Vice President Mr. Mohammad Nasir appreciated the effort for organizing this camp and gathering youths to be a part of this noble cause as life is precious on this earth. "Each drop of blood counts much, so kindly take it as personal compassion to help unknown who requires blood with no relatives to help him/her.

In Abu Dhabi 41 and in Sharjah 49 donors participated in this event and donated their blood. It was nice to see cheerful smiling donors doing a great community work.
Blood bank staff and AKO Organizing team enthusiastically arranged the campaign which was witnessed by many members and leaders of various community organization of Karnataka.

Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta President briefed the participates about the ongoing social work of AKO in this current COVID-19 pandemic grim situation AKO is working on following fields: AKO Members have stepped up to support needy community during the Covid-19 pandemic have gone out of their way to comfort those struggling to deal with the challenging situation.

While thousands of people continue to #StayHome, many are in quarantine, there are those on visit visa and stuck here, others have lost jobs or face salary cuts. AKO in coordination with UAE Embassy and other social organization have been able to ensure basic necessities are fulfilled with food provisions and medical assistance to needy.

Providing counselling to bachelors and families those are on quarantine and isolation.

The organizers thanked everybody especially, UAE Health Authority, Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah, Management and staff as well as donors for their time and support for the good cause.

Dubai: A non-profitable social organization, KSCC is delivering a great service to the community during this pandemic situation.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club is a civil organization registered under Community Development Authority (CDA) involved in implementing various UAE government initiatives, blood donation drives, health campaigns, sport events, charity works, awareness programs and much more.

KSCC is currently actively liaising with Dubai government authorities in discharging the needs and requirements of the people in these challenging covid-19 pandemic times. It is also involved the activities such as logistics, coordinating stores, mobilizing isolation centers, equipping quarantine facilities and volunteering services.

During these testing times, KSCC is also facilitating the Guidance to the general public, follow-up up to 122 covid positive cases, counselling the affected, assisting the references and providing the ever-necessary emotional support by setting up a team of 24 reserved persons for call center helplines.

As per the request from DHA (Dubai Health Authority) KSCC has successfully organized the blood donation drive and donated upto 141 units of blood with the help of KSCC members & supporters.

Apart from above, KSCC is also engaged in serving needy by distributing the food provisional kit (Yestahloon) from the very 1st day of lockdown till day by their special task force team under guidelines of CDA, and also taking into consideration the month of Ramadan, team is successfully distributing Iftar food & provision kit with the help of donors.

In the 1st Phase, KSCC covered 2421 beneficiaries by providing 440 provisional food kits, 435 food pack and 529 Iftar kits.

As per the CDA guidelines, club is also engaged in following up the health condition of senior citizens living in UAE.

KSCC special team is also engaged in clearing documentation and formalities related to dead body repatriation until its final procedures and handing over to relatives with help of UAE governments authorities. Total 5 dead bodies are repatriated in their 1st phase of service.

KSCC is also having a center controlled special task team to assist all above activities during the covid-19 pandemic to continue the services to general public.

KSCC thanks all Government authorities, Members in different task team, supporters and Sponsors company MAERSK, MALABAR GOLD & DIAMOND and TAMIL ENTREPRENEUR for their support and also request extend their support to consolidate the above demanding service and deliver our best possible assistance not only because it is the month of Ramadan, but also our responsibility to reach out to the poor and needy, during this fight against Covid-19.

Mangaluru, May 22: An elderly cardiac patient from Dakshina Kannada, who was stranded in Saudi Arabia due to covid-19 lock-down, has finally reached his homeland thanks to the timely intervention by Humanity Forum Jubail and Indian Social Forum.

The elderly man hailing from Kadaba area of Dakshina Kannada was admitted to a hospital in Madinah. However, his condition continued to worsen due to lack of proper treatment. The efforts by his family members to bring him back home had not yielded results.

Meanwhile, one of the relatives of the patient, Ansari Suratkal, who happens to be a DKSC activist, brought the issue to the notice of the Karnataka unit of the Indian Social Forum in Dammam. ISF contacted Humanity Forum president Zakariya Jokatte, who helped the patient to speak directly union minister D V Sadananda Gowda in a video conference organised by coastaldigest.com.

Humanity Forum also persuaded the Indian Embassy to allow the stranded cardiac patient to fly back to India through Dammam-Bengaluru repatriation flight on May 20. 

However, it was not easy for the patient to travel from Madinah to Dammam International Airport due to lock-down and curfew. ISF not only obtained travel permission for him but also arranged vehicle. Jeddah and Riyadh units of ISF helped in obtaining permission letter in their respective places in spite of travel ban imposed by the police. Madinah unit of ISF arranged vehicle for transportation. Zakariya Jokatte bore the air ticket and other expenses of the patient.
