Kannur Airport authorities seek bus services from Mysuru region

Mysuru, June 2: In order to provide facilities to air passengers from Mysuru and Kodagu region in Karnataka, Kannur International Airport authorities have written to the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) seeking bus connectivity services to the Airport from Mysuru and Kodagu regions.

Confirming the communication between the recently-opened Kannur International Airport authorities, the KSRTC sources in Mysuru said the corporation had replied with a positive response provided the airport authorities secure the requisite permit from the Kerala government for the operation of the bus services.

The authorities had sought bus services from Mysuru, Virajpet and Madikeri to the Kannur airport.

Mangaluru, Mar 30: Police on Monday registered a case against a man, who, after return from Dubai, had failed to adhere to lockdown guidelines of house quarantine.

The case was filed by Assistant Commissioner, Puttur, Dr Yathish Ullal.

The man, who returned from Dubai on March 21, had a seal on his hand and was supposed to stay at home for 14 days, but was seen roaming around the city, hence he was taken into custody and a case registered.

Bengaluru, Jun 11: Within hours after claiming that it has decided to prohibit schools from schools from conducting online classes till Class 7, the Karnataka government has taken a U-turn and said that currently than ban is only till Class 5.

“Karnataka Govt has decided to stop all online classes for LKG, UKG & classes up to 5th std. To extend this up to 7th std is only a suggestion from few cabinet ministers as expressed in an informal discussion and NOT a decision,” tweeted Prime and Secondary Minister Suresh Kumar.

Law Minister J C Madhuswamy earlier today had stated that the decision to ban online classes till 7th standard was taken by the government.  "All of us were of the opinion that there were challenges faced by students studying in rural areas. Hence, we urged the government to extend the ban on online classes till 7 standard," he said

Udupi, Aug 1: A young rider lost his life after a head-on collision between a scooter and a car on K G Road in Udupi last evening.

The deceased has been identified as Praveen Ganiga (24), a resident of Kodavoor in Malpe.

According to police Praveen was riding his scooter on the wrong side of the road. The car was plying from Brahmavar to Udupi.

The people on board car suffered minor injuries in the mishap. A case was registered at Brahmavar police station and investigations are on.
