Kannur Airport authorities seek bus services from Mysuru region

Mysuru, June 2: In order to provide facilities to air passengers from Mysuru and Kodagu region in Karnataka, Kannur International Airport authorities have written to the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) seeking bus connectivity services to the Airport from Mysuru and Kodagu regions.

Confirming the communication between the recently-opened Kannur International Airport authorities, the KSRTC sources in Mysuru said the corporation had replied with a positive response provided the airport authorities secure the requisite permit from the Kerala government for the operation of the bus services.

The authorities had sought bus services from Mysuru, Virajpet and Madikeri to the Kannur airport.

Mumbai, Jul 11: Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan announced on Twitter late on Saturday that he tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection.

Taking to Twitter to announce the news, he said, "I have tested CoVID positive... " He added that family and staff had also undergone tests while Bachchan has been shifted to a hospital. 

Bachchan ended his tweet saying, "All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested !"

Bachchan, who was last seen in Gulabo Sitabo that released on OTT platforms, will be seen in Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Bhrahmastra.

Bengaluru, Aug 3: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and his daughter have been admitted to the Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru for observation after testing positive for COVID-19. The Chief Minister is in clinically stable condition.

"Karnataka Chief Minister has been admitted to the hospital for observation. He is doing well, is clinically stable and will be monitored closely by our team," Manipal Hospital said on Monday.
"His daughter has tested positive for COVID-19. She has been admitted to the hospital," added the hospital in another statement.

Yediyurappa had on Sunday tweeted that he had tested positive for COVID-19. The Chief Minister, 77, said he is fine and is being hospitalised as a precaution on the recommendation of doctors.

"I have tested positive for coronavirus. Whilst I am fine, I am being hospitalised as a precaution on the recommendation of doctors. I request those who have come in contact with me recently to be observant and exercise self-quarantine," Yediyurappa wrote.

Bengaluru, Apr 18: With 12 fresh cases of the COVID-19 infection, including one woman, the total number of novel coronavirus cases in Karnataka surged to 371 on Saturday.

The sources said that as many as three new positive cases were reported from Mysuru district, followed by two each from Kalaburagi, Bhagalkote, one each case from Vijayapura, Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag and Mandya, districts on Saturday.
