Karnataka chapter of IFF-Riyadh hosts Sneha Koota-2014

Riyadh, Apr 23: India is a great democratic country where we must maintain harmony among all communities, said Saleem Guruvayanakere, ISF National ad-hoc committee member. He was speaking at ‘Sneha Koota 2014’, a family get together organized by India Fraternity Forum-Riyadh, Karnataka Chapter, at Al-Rushd Resort in Riyadh recently.

The event began with recitation of Quranic verses by Hafiz Sayed Mohammed Abdullah from Bihar followed by welcome address by Ismail Inoli General Secretary of IFF Riyadh Karnataka Chapter.

IFF Riyadh Region President Saleem Maulavi Al-Kasimi, in his presidential address stressed on the importance of educational empowerment of Indian Muslims to become part of mainstream in India.

Ashraf Puttur, President, IFF-Dammam, Karnataka Chapter, inaugurated the programme. Chief guest Dr. Kaiser Parvez, General Physician National Tuberculosis Program Head MOH Riyadh gave health tips and spoke about the prevention of Corona Virus, a deadly disease that caused concern in the Kingdom. Haris Sowkar, President IFF Riyadh, Karnataka Chapter, guest of the event and Haris Angaragundi proposed vote of thanks compered the programme.

Hundreds of Indian expatriates participated in the programme, which included a documentary presentation of Rehab Indian Foundation’s charity works in India and IFF Expo exhibition. The special attraction of the event was Yoga demonstration by IFF Kerala Team and Social awareness drama ‘Daarideepa’ by IFF Karnataka brothers.

Various sports and games for children, women and youths like tug-of-war, sack race were conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners.

Four air tickets sponsored by Jet Airways were won by Mr. Gafoor Katipalla, Mr. Ashraf Mulki, Mr. Siddik Mangalore and Mrs. Thahira Ilyas Bajpe.

Karavali Welfare Association’s Mr. Royston Prabhu and Mr. Rajesh, KYMA’s Mr. Parvaz Ali & Mr. Sulaiman Katipalla, Hidaya Foundation’s Mr. Ilyas Udupi, Mr. Ramzuddin Tamilunadu from ISF, Mr. Basheer Kerala, Ucchila Jamath’s Mr. Mushtaq Kasim, Yermal Jamath’s Mr. Ilyas Ucchila, Panorama’s Mr. Niyaz Padubidri, Mr. Mohammed Sirajuddin from Malabar Gold & Daimonds, Mr. Jiljith. Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.

Kuwait: The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed the whole world into a difficult situation and the situation of Indians in Kuwait is not any different. Many people have lost their jobs, have no salary, are deprived of food and are not able to pay rent. The appalling conditions of labourers, domestic workers, taxi drivers and low waged earners don’t seem to end in Kuwait. 

At this trying situation when many people were even afraid of leaving their houses because of coronavirus, Suresh S. Rao Neramballi, volunteer of the Food Kit Distribution at the ICSG (Indian Community Support Group) has helped many tremendously. He was ready to go around delivering food kits at any time possible by his car. However, after Kuwait imposed a full curfew from 11th May 2020, no one could take out their vehicles unless they had a curfew pass. 

This did not stop Mr. Suresh Neramballi, who then borrowed a bicycle from a friend and ended up going around in the cycle delivering the food kits in curfew break time (4:30pm to 6:30pm) to all those who registered in the ICSG website. This selfless service surely commands appreciation and applause. Mr. Suresh Neramballi has been a light for many families and bachelors in Kuwait and will surely garner the blessings of them who have been able to eat at this time.

He was also the one who could deliver the food kits to many Indian Muslim maids, bachelors, laborers and families previous day and right on the day of EID, as they were not able to go shopping for their groceries for EID, due to the curfew. They blessed him in EID dua. 

Mr. Suresh Neramballi hails from Mangaluru, India and is an Engineer in the Oil sector company in Kuwait. He has been dedicated to social service, achieved 'Aryabhata International Award' for his Kannada Service and Social service, served in many Associations and Distributor of Kannada and Tulu Movies in Kuwait. He wholeheartedly thanks the people and government of Kuwait for his bread and butter.

God bless you brother and keep you healthy plus happy always.   You will be in the prayers of those who receivec your timely regardles they are hindu or muslim or christian.   This is a slap on the face of hate mongers who are always trying to divide the socieity in the name of religion.    Such people are burden to this world and society.   We should clean our society from such dirt and bad people.   Well done brother.  May God bless you.

Kuwait: Eid is usually a time of family get-togethers and feasts after weeks of dawn-to-dusk fasting. But this year people celebrated at home, with virus fears dampening the holiday spirit and strict restrictions in place.

Kuwait went under full curfew before the start of Ramadan leaving people to practice fasting and Ramadan rituals at home, Even Eid al-Fitr came under full lock-down period.

As situation demanded, IMA Kuwait celebrated the Eid Get-together online via video conferencing tool, All IMA members participated joyfully in Eid Milan online gathering which was scheduled immediately after Eid prayer. Members participated and congratulated each other on the eve of Eid.

The IMA president Shamvel Parviz addressed the gathering and thanked them for joining online for this unique Eid celebration which will be remembered in history. He also advised members to be aware of conditions of neighbors, friends and family and assist them if they need help in this difficult time.

Eid al-Fitr follows weeks of fasting and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims all over Kuwait followed strict guideline and performed Eid prayer at home along with their family.

As a part of social service activities IMA also distributed ration kits before start of Ramadan and during Ramadan for needy people all over Kuwait.
