Belagavi, Sept 14: Senior congress leader and Former Minister R V Deshpande urged the union government to immediately released five thousand crore rupees as interim relief to take up relief and rehabilitation works of the flood affected people in Karnataka state.
He was speaking with media persons after participate private program in Belagavi on Friday evening and said that, huge losses, damage to infrastructure while the estimate flood damage had been pegged up at Rs 38,000 crore due to the recent deluge.
The chief minister B S Yeddiyurappa himself had given the figures and sought for adequate relief. However the center had not released any money for taking up relief despite the state had suffered huge devastation Deshpande alleged.
