Karnataka govt declares holiday for all schools on July 25, 26 owing to bus strike

studentsBengaluru, Jul 24: Karnataka government on Sunday declared two-day holidays for students of both private and government schools from July 25.

The decision was taken in view of bus strike called by KSRTC and BMTC bus workers who have been demanding for a 15% hike in DA.

The Indian Vehicle Drivers Trade Union with a strength of over 1 lakh drivers has also decided to support the indefinite strike from Monday.

Is there a holiday on 26th of july 2016 for schools and colleges in bangalore ..... our college has not intimated us regarding the holiday tomorrow ...... hope its a holiday..... please reply ..

Bengaluru, Mar 4: A total of five people suspected of being infected with Coronavirus have been admitted to the isolation wards of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases in Bengaluru.

Samples of these patients have been collected and their reports are likely to be received later today.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has assured people in state about preparedness to tackle Coronavirus.

Earlier in the day, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan had said that there were 28 cases of Coronavirus in the country and added that universal screening of all international flights will begin to control the spread of the deadly virus.

Global deaths due to Coronavirus outbreak have risen above 3,000.

Udupi, Feb 16: A man, who was trapped in 15-feet-deep hole following a landslide during borwell digging work at a remote area in the coastal district, was finally rescued after a prolonged effort today.

The man, identified as Rohit, suffered minor injuries in the incident.

The incident took place at Maravanthe village near Baindur in Udupi district.

Rohit was trapped when the land around borewell was being dug collapsed suddenly. It took around six hours for the rescue workers to rescue him.

Mangaluru, Apr 18: Mangaluru Police have registered a case against two foreign nationals, who were under home quarantine in Kodailbail, for allegedly spitting in the lift of their apartment building on Friday.

The two men, along with three of their roommates, have now been sent to a quarantine facility.

The residents of the residential complex have mentioned in their complaint that they have the CCTV footage of the two spitting in the lift.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
