Karnataka Muslim Cultural Association holds blood donation camp

Qatar, Feb 15: Karnataka Muslim Cultural Association (KMCA), a registered body under Indian Cultural Center (ICC) hosted a blood donation drive on February 14 at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) blood donors unit.

 The response by the donors and the well-wishers unexpectedly turned to be huge numbers which started from 8 mornings and ended up at 11.30 AM. Around 300 people irrespective of caste and religion joined the noble cause which was a unique show organized by KMCA.

 Around 40 members were successful in donating the blood in today’s blood donation drive after the routine checkups.

 Dr. Zulfikar hailing from Mysore addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance and benefits of donating the blood. Mr. Saeed Assadi welcomed the gathering while Mr. Saquib Raza Khan proposed vote of thanks.

 M. Iqbal Manna, community activist cum Special Needs of KMCA was the event co-ordinator. .

 Mr. Tarun Basu, President of Indian Cultural Center (ICC) Mr. Deepak Shetty, President, Karnataka Sangha Qatar, Mr. Ashmath Ali, Acting President of Tulu Koota Qatar, Mr. M. Ravi Shetty, President, Bunts Qatar, Mr. Sunil D’ Silva, President, MCC, Mr. Divakar Poojary, President, Qatar Billawas, Mr. Abdul Majeed, President, South Canara Muslim Welfare Association, Mrs. Milan Arun, and Mr. Ramachandra Shetty ICBF officials, Mr. Syed Abdul Hye, Senior Resident of Qatar, Mr. Habibul Nabi, and Satish Tonse prominent Indian community members and several other dignitaries  attended this noble cause.

 The KMCA Managing Committee also extending its thanks and appreciation to Mr. Salim U, The Managing Director of Team Engineering Company Mr. Niyaz Ahmed from HBK Contracting company and the President of KMCA, for arranging their employees to join and donate blood for the noble cause.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.

Dubai, Aug 6: Non-resident Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist Dewakara Alva passed away on Thursday August 6. He was 63.

Alva, who hailed from Mangaluru, was the director of Federal Insurance Brokers LLC, Dubai and was residing in Dubai for around four decades. He was reportedly suffering from health problems for last few months. 

He was a patron of Tulu and Kannada language and culture in United Arab Emirates. He was a member of various NRI organizations including UAE Tulu Koota and UAE Bunts

Alva is survived by wife Saritha, daughter Powshali, and son Manal.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.
